She's Going to Stevie Nicks, but What is She Going to Wear!

My dear lovely husband for the month of my birth has gotten us two tickets to see Stevie Nicks when she rolls into town here this September!! As any time when plans are made the next question is what will I wear?  Since it's my birthday and it's Stevie I'm thinking I may have to Rent the Runway for the concert. 1.  Adam Lippes Collective This floral number has been on my wish list with Rent the Runway for awhile. Not for any particular occasion, but just as an option come what may. I like the higher neck and the summery feel it has, it's for sure giving me Silver Springs vibes, but is it witchy enough?  2. Maje This midi has side cutouts, sheer sleeves, a half-skirt, and definitely has a dark romance vibe more up the Stevie Nicks alley.  I think also, since the concert is in September the cutouts and lighter fabric would work better in the still summer weather. But I'm not feeling a particular song with this pick, but I think it's an overall solid contender....

White Denim and Sheer Tights

I love white denim no matter the season, but there's something about this point in spring (in Pennsylvania) where the palette of nature feels so fragile. This white denim jacket really pops against that fragility what with the contrast in the sky, bare trees, bit of green, and weathered stone. Oh so poetic...  jacket- J.Crew , top-C/MEO Collective thrifted from Phoenix Boutique , shorts-Everlane(similar here ), boots- Nordstrom , tights- Target , rings- Mejuri / Amazon , sunnies-- Kate Spade You may recall this top from my thrifting post . Here I've paired it with trouser shorts, sheer tights, and the star of this outfit the denim jacket. I'm back and forth on sheer tights, they have a lot of 80's connotations for me, but not in a good way. These shots were taken a few weeks ago, so there's definitely more growth on trees and such as of this posting. But I think no matter the season or the weather you can't go wrong with a black and white look, and if the piece...

Outfit of Many Parts

This outfit was built around a literal foundation garment--a bodysuit. From there it was a matter of picking pieces that spoke to each other to bring together a look. Unlike, my last post that had a very clear style point of you view, this outfit has a more eclectic aesthetic.  blazer/bodysuit- Gap (similar options here  and here ), skirt- Universal Standard , sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , scarf- Ralph Lauren (similar here ), belt- Amazon , boots- Nordstrom (similar here ) Forgive my hunched appearance, I always remember to stand up straight when it's too late. The seeds of this look, which did come together a bit waywardly, were planted from this  Who What Wear article.  It featured both bodysuits and silk split skirts as "must haves" for spring, but didn't necessarily style them in the same look. Pairing them together on my own, I then reached for this belt, boots, and blazer. The scarf came almost as an afterthought for a bit of coverage. The scoop neckline of this bo...

Throw a Leather Jacket On It!

Wow, it's been over a month since my last post, which was an outfit I wore my first week back to regularly going into the office .  Well after that first week, I've barely had a normal week since! With my oldest starting kindergarten and Covid-related shutdowns at daycare for my younger daughter it's been a scramble.  So here I am in a leather jacket, button-down, wide-leg trousers, and sneakers. jacket- Nordstrom , shirt/sneakers-H&M(similar here and here ), trousers/belt-Gap(similar here and here ), sunnies- DIFF Eyewear I love finishing off typical office wear looks with this leather jacket.  I added a sporty sense with the sneakers and would totally wear this to work, or drinks, or events like a book party or reading, whenever those are no longer virtual.  Hopefully I'll be back to posting more regularly, we shall see...
