Lace Two Ways

my dress- Asos Here I am with my friend Sam before we attended Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's production of "A Street Car Named Desire."  What I find interesting about these two outfits are their similarities and at the same time their differences.   Sam's dress is vintage and more conservative, while mine is faux-leather and a bit edgy.  However, both dresses feature lace overlays to create great textures and very different overall looks.  I do want to note that we did not plan this whatsoever.  Sam just got this dress from a thrift store and I had ordered mine several months prior and was just waiting for the right occasion to bust it out. But I think these two dresses just needed to be together and through the power of outfit karma they were united for a wonderful evening out.

STELLA!!!!!

So this Friday, I am going to Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's production of "A Streetcar Named Desire" and at this point I am unsure of my outfit. However, after flipping through the picks of Stella McCartney's Fall 2012 collection an idea is forming.  These three looks bring to mind the idea of elegant sweater dressing, which is something that is easier said then done.  Breaking down these looks in the top and bottom pics it's just a sweater and trousers.  But where Stella is making them pop is the fit, drape, color, and texture.  Now anyone can grab a chunky sweater or turtle neck and wear them with a pair of pants, but to truly capture the essence of this collection one should set a high standard of fit, form, and material.   For me and my weekend adventure at the ballet I think I may take a cue from the middle photo and try to incorporate a well fitted sweater dress with a collared shirt.  Things have been a bit chilly here in the 'Burgh so...
