Is This An Outfit?

I don't know friends, is this even an outfit or just clothes? I think the holiday stress, cold weather, and just general malaise has worn down this outfitter into a woman who is just wearing clothes... can it be real? You make the call.      coat-Nordstrom(similar here ), vest-LL Bean(similar here ) dress- Universal Standard , sunnies-Versace(more options here ), tired necklace-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), necklace/bracelets-- Slide Jewels, bag- Herschel , boots- DSW Individually all of these pieces feel stylish. The sweater dress is a neutral basic, but still relatively chic. The coat is a classic wardrobe staple (featured here and here ). The vest is a quality item that provides interesting layers and textures. The jewelry provides polish, while the boots are fun, trending, and provide a contrasting aesthetic to the overall look. The bag I will admit doesn't feel "right" I thought maybe it works color-wise with the coat (perhaps in a more casual look). I just do...

Dress & Sweater Combo 1

I picked up this dress in the spring and have worn it casually throughout the summer. Love how it coordinates with this oversized pullover I've had for a few years. Grabbed some sneakers, a ballcap, and sunglasses for a day out an about.  And now And some accessory details! Another sweater change-up! dress-Universal Standard(more options here ), sweater-Nordstrom Rack(similar here ), hat- Gap , sunnies- Diff Eyewear , bag- Herschel , necklaces- Mejuri , bracelet- BaYou with Love , sneakers-Ascis(similar here )  There's a lovely tone-on-tone/monochromatic effect happening with the color story of burgundy, mauve, and lavender in this outfit. There's surprising amount of versatility in styling this sweater with the dress. I went with an unexpected, skewed wrap around for the first series of pics, then donned it traditionally, and lastly slung it over the tote.  Be on the look out for an upcoming post on another dress & sweater combo with this maxi-dress...

She's Outdoorsy!

Over the holidays we stayed close to home, but were able to get outside a bit. Spent most days wearing a version of this outfit. Over the past year I've gone more casual in my looks, but am always looking to elevate your basic sweatshirt and leggings. So it's a forest-printed pullover and colorblock leggings!  sweatshirt- Signals , leggings-Old Navy(all the leggings here ), scarf-American Apparel(similar here ), bag-- Herschel via FabFitFun , sneakers-Asics(similar here ), ring- Skelton Jewelry It was a very grey overcast (yet oddly warm) December day when we took these pictures.  I felt silly wearing sunglasses, so it's a rare bare face post. Well not bare, I'm wearing some Glossier , I'm not insane. As mentioned above, causal/active wear doesn't have to be shclumpy or boring, finding and pairing standard pieces rendered in prints and fun colors takes the boring out of basics.
