Cropped Tops & High-Waisted Shorts

Last summer these shorts sparked my #funshortsfriday posts . This summer I've been all about bralettes and these high-waisted shorts are the perfect bottom for a cropped top.  bralettes- Three Bird Nest , shorts-Uniqlo(similar here ), sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , sandals- Marc Fisher , necklace-Gifted These are actually two layered bralettes, a basic black one under a lacey version. You may recall the this boho piece from this post back in September when I paired it with a tennis cardi, leather trousers, and kicks.  Here, I'm just trying to beat the heat, but still able to incorporate pattern and texture.

Autumn Uniform

blazer/pants/shirt-J.Crew(similar here , here , & here ), sweater-Banana Republic(similar here ), loafers- G.H. Bass Factory Outlet , necklaces-Gifted from Lucky Feather and Etsy , bracelet- BaYou with Love , ring- Mejuri I know I'm "j.crewing" all over myself in this outfit, but you can't beat their classic preppy and plaid pieces for fall. This look is an example of my go-to style uniform since I started this blog ( here , here , here , & here ). I often wear this outfit formula of cropped trousers, button-down, blazer, and loafers when I don't know what else to wear. And it can be quite versatile, you can swap in jeans, or replace the blazer with an overcoat, play around with layers, you're only limited by your imagine.

Turtleneck Time

blazer- Luciano Barbera ( thrifted ), turtleneck-H&M, dress - Etsy shop OdaLux , necklace- Women of the Cloud Forest (gifted) rings- Mejuri , boots-Lifestride via DSW(similar here  and here ) This linen summer dress is seeing action again here in autumn. In this post I belted a denim shirt over it and paired with booties. For the #OOTD above I've upped my layering game with a turtleneck, blazer, and knee-high boots. November is the beginning of turtleneck time. This versatile piece can be layered under dresses, jumpsuits, button-downs, and anything V-neck.  I've played up the hue of the shift dress with this  recently purchased burgundy turtleneck as opposed to the standard black or grey. I think now is a great time of the year to experiment with turtlenecks in a variety of colors and patterns.  They can be worn solo, or in a layered look as I've done here. For a more casual look, I'd swap the dress out for a pair of skinny jeans, or corduroys.
