Outfits Not Just Clothes

I'm debating on whether or not, and what type of haircut I should get. Part of me wants to keep growing it out, but even to do so it would probably be helpful to get a trim and set myself up for success with the start of a style that lends itself to more growth. Or, I could go back to pre-Covid pixie...  Either way, I'm embracing blazers here as we gear up for November.  This month can be tricky when it comes to outerwear.  In a  post last week, I featured some recent buys.  Well packages have arrived and I'm anticipating a very stylish and badass autumn with these pieces: Jacket / boots - Nordstrom , tee- For Days , joggers- Uniqlo Even though I'm just trying on the jacket and boots, I kind of love them with these hiked-up sweats and simple tee. That's the thing about statement pieces, you can go either really basic with the rest of your look, OR go for an unexpected mash-up like wearing these more masculine pieces with this summery, girly dress: Anthropologie So even though it IS still technically summer, and the weather is still very summer like, I'm looking forward to a September full of jackets, and boots, and of course sweaters! 

Around this time every August I find myself the deep throes of outfit fatigue, this summer more than ever.  These past two months have just been miserably hot and the only thing I can stand to wear day in and day out are my cutoffs and tank tops. Even if it weren't for the heat, since I'm working from home, I've not been outfitting in my daily life. But with my birthday and fall right around the corner I've been engaging in some retail therapy and dreaming of the chilly days and potential outfits ahead.   First up, some tough girl buys from Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale Topshop Faux Leather Jacket Block Heel Combat Boot How killer are these boots and this jacket. In a normal times I'd be planning not only how, but where I could style this badass combo. With jeans and flannel shirt for some outdoor day drinking at a local brewery. Or with v-neck sweater and plaid trousers for weekday lunch meetup, oh definitely pair them up with a girly flirty dress for date night...

It's that time of year again, The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is upon us!!!! Early access for cardholders starts today! Even though we are still in the haggardly throes of a sticky hot summer, I'm doing a bit of self-care daydreaming about the crisp-cool weather ahead and browsing sweaters.  Halogen Three Quarter Sleeve Sweater Just a simple form-fitting pink sweater. In yesterday's post I reveled in the challenge of re-purposing my dresses into maternity tunics, but there are two sides to every outfitting coin and I'm finding work-appropriate maternity top options to be dwindling here as of late. I'm not a fan of actual maternity shirts because they really ONLY work with a bump. The close-fitting kind are just NOT flattering postpartum, and the more voluminous shirts are WAY too big after baby arrives. Plus, I find it hard to justify a new purchase (and get pumped for it) if I only have three more months to wear it.  So I'm looking to tunic options, particularly from ModCloth (I have a store credit) and in thinking ahead to the fall, wanting a shirt that'll see me through the rest of my pregnancy, during my postpartum period, and be a cute piece for my return to work.  Cast your votes in the comments!  A.
