All The Prints

jacket-Mikkat Market(similar here from Old Navy ), skirt-Banana Republic(similar here ), tee-Zara(similar here ), heels-Zappos(similar here ), belt-Urban Outfitters(more belts here ) I'm wearing all of the prints in this outfit! Stripes, flowers, and a painterly abstract pattern. The similar color palette, finished with neutral jacket and belt keep the overall effect grounded. I started with the striped T-shirt, wanting to wear something that was easy, then I knew I wanted a skirt (having just shaved my legs). Once I had the top and bottom sorted the accessories just sort of popped out at me. So yes, very pleased with how this ensemble came together.

Summer Layers II

dress-Old Navy(similar here ), shirt- Ralph Lauren , vest- Thrifted , necklace- Le Tote , shoes-Zappos(sort of similar here ), watch-Michael Kors(similar here ), rings- Jewel Mint / French Connection In this post from last week I discussed the idea of summer layering to add texture, interest, print, and color to an overall outfit. And like yesterday's post here , I'm changing up the function of a dress with additional layers. Yesterday, I made a fancier dress more everyday, here I've taken a causal dress into work wear with a button-down shirt and vest. And speaking of vests, they are always a great blazer-alternative for the summer months and a fun layering piece regardless of the season.

Stripes & Polka Dots

blazer- Jcrew via Threadflip (more options here ), pants-Jcrew Factory(similar here ), top-Old Navy(similar here ), heels-Zappos(similar here ), bracelet-Mikkat Market(similar here ), necklace-Martin & Osa(similar here ) So many awesome elements to this outfit! There's the graphic color combinations, the fun mix of stripes, polka dots, and floral, plus the whole thing just screams spring! I will say these wedges may have been a bit chunky for this look, maybe a flat or strappy sandal would have been a smidge more flattering.. Oh well what's outfitted is outfitted.  On a side note, Mr. Keller and I are headed down to DC this weekend to visit my mother. Whenever my mom and I see each other we ALWAYS check out each other's closets, and compare our outfits for the visit, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree on that noise.  Happy Mother's Day!

Green & Orange Tropical Outfit

Not just putting a bird on it. I'm putting a bird on a branch on it. blouse-ModCloth(similar here ), trousers-Jcrew(similar here ), shoes-Zappos(similar here ), necklace-Forever 21(similar here )   Earlier last week we reached highs in the low 80's and when the weather gets hot the colors come out. I'm not a huge fan of mixing green and red, but I do enjoy the occasional pairing of  green and orange. This color combo reminds me of the tropics, so I pushed that feeling with these exotic floral wedge heels and a bird-on-a-branch necklace( a great/quirky find from Forever21).   Things will be slowing down post wise on the blog, folks.  My husband/photographer had knee surgery and is basically immobile in our guest room. I'll be playing nurse(not in a frisky way) over the next few weeks, and while doing so (brace yourself) will be wearing just clothes... I know, I know, BUT husband health prevails o...
