Slouchy "Summer" Chic

tunic-Anthropologie(more options here ), pants-H&M(similar here ), loafers-Zara(similar here ), sunnies- Target Even though it's after Labor Day and school is back in session it still feels like summer out there. During the hot and humid days of September it takes an experienced Outfitter, such as myself to walk that fine line between dressing for the forecast, while also styling around the transitioning season. Hence, this boho black tunic and patterned joggers, both of which feel somewhat summery, while at the same time, with the dark colors and pattern speak to the coming fall.

April Buys

With some too-good-to-past-up-sale here as of late I've added to my springtime wardrobe with the hopes that Spring will eventual make it's way to Pittsburgh. The forecast is looking good for the rest of this week! I had two main edicts guiding me in the following purchases. 1. Non-Maternity pieces that I could wear now in my 3rd trimester. 2 Potential garments for my return to work in the fall when my body will be in "flux". First up, a few pieces from H&M Long-Sleeved Tunic Olives and military greens are always a favorite of mine for early spring and transitional seasons in general. Loving the longer length of this tunic, which can be worn with maternity leggings now, and trousers in a six months time.  Pull-On Pants Speaking of trousers, hello pull-on pants! I'm a big advocate of pull-on pants for the post-baby body. I have at least half-a-dozen pairs from Uniqlo  and wanted to see how the H&M version holds up. This dark br...

Versatile Pants

blazer-J.Crew(more options here ), blouse-Gap(similar here ), pants-Uniqlo(similar here ), scarf- American Apparel , socks-Target(similar here ), boots-Landsend(similar  here ) These pull-on pants from Uniqlo  have seen me through many a ho-hum workday. In this OOTD they serve as the base for a three-way print mix of tweedy plaid, florals, and argyle. The patterns all work with their similar hues, while the trousers with some zuzhing, almost appear like joggers to give the more "classic" blazer and blouse combo a modern twist.

Putting the X in XMAS

I was on a bit of a posting hiatus with the holiday break and it's flurry of activities, but rest assured I kept my outfitting game going! So, be ready for a few holiday-dressing posts here to start out the New Year, case in point an Ugly Christmas Sweater coming at ya! sweater-Skedouche(similar here ), pants-J.Crew(similar here ), boots- LL Bean Yes, this sweater features Rudolph and his second favorite appendage! For several years my husband and I hosted an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party , and this gem is part of our shared holiday sweater collection. I kept things casual, yet festive in these red, wool pull-on pants. Actually, these are my "eating" pants so it was all about cozy comfort whilst indulging in holiday treats. Granted, this was not a look for family fun time, no visits to Santa, etc. But for some day-drinking it was perfect!
