Outfits Not Just Clothes

I find outfit inspiration from a variety of sources and sites.  Some style suggestions can be kind of over-the-top and not at all realistic for my lifestyle or budget, but the idea for this outfit " wearing a cardigan as a shirt " is just a gem. It doesn't require the purchase of anything new (in fact it brings this old cardigan out of the dresser), it's applicable to a all sorts of body types, occasions, personal styles, and it's a fun way to experiment with sweaters. I accessorized with simple gold jewelry, my go-to sunnies, and went with a chignon of sorts for quite a chic little look for fall!

In this post I belted a denim shirt over it and paired with booties. For the #OOTD above I've upped my layering game with a turtleneck, blazer, and knee-high boots. November is the beginning of turtleneck time. This versatile piece can be layered under dresses, jumpsuits, button-downs, and anything V-neck.  I've played up the hue of the shift dress with this  recently purchased burgundy turtleneck as opposed to the standard black or grey. I think now is a great time of the year to experiment with turtlenecks in a variety of colors and patterns.  They can be worn solo, or in a layered look as I've done here. For a more casual look, I'd swap the dress out for a pair of skinny jeans, or corduroys. 

The C and V stand are the initials of my daughters' first names, loving how delicate this necklace is. Now I've cinched it over a printed minidress worn over these badass combat boots. It's such a versatile piece of outerwear and being fleece quite cozy.  This dress is rendered in an unexpected pattern of florals sprigs. You don't usually associate flowers with fall, but the colors and use of stems evoke a sense of foliage making it the perfect dress to wear in front of this forest landscape. Also, I'm wearing a headband! I'm still holding off on a haircut, as discussed in my last post . I'm going to see how things grow out and play aroun...
