Gidget Moment

top- Uniqlo , pants-Zara(similar here ), bag-H&M(similar here ), shoes- Shoe Mint There's something about a striped boxy shirt that makes me think of Gidget paired with these tropical print cropped trousers (last seen  here ) and I feel like I could totally pass for an extra in the TV show if this was 1965.  It could be argued that there's a lot going on here with the stripes and print, but for me it works with the white back ground of the print and the stripes.  If the stripes where reversed or thicker then this wouldn't work as well.

Cocktail Shorts

Mr. Keller was very excited about these shorts. We had at least five more shots of just shorts. A rare smile. Mr. Keller ALWAYS tries to make me laugh by saying silly things. This simle came from him just shouting out "POOP!" He's so odd... blouse-Mikkat Market(similar here ), shorts-Anthropologie(similar here ), heels-Zara(kind of similar here ), necklace-Bauble Bar(similar here ), bag-vintage/gifted It is all about the shorts here. Believe it or not, I don't have a ton of occasions to bust out a frilly cocktail short, but when I do I go all out and try to make the most out of it with accessories. One could argue such a short short and such a high heel may be a bit "ho-ish" however, since the blouse covers a lot and had a slightly masculine feel it allows for a nice balance.  Also, the statement necklace and posh clutch steer me clear from "ho-ville." "Steer Me Clear from Ho-ville" I may have found ...

Subdued Stars & Stripes

blazer/ cropped trousers -Banana Republic(similar blazer here ), t-shirt- Style Mint , bracelet/necklace- Jewel Mint , heels-DSW(similar here ) I found myself going grey, black, white, and navy this week in my office outfits. This looks leans heavily toward casual with the t-shirt and maybe the blazer isn't doing as much as it could. I do love this tee though. It's not fussy, nor is it boring, plus the drape is quite nice, just as a t-shirt should be. It's been kind of a lazy week outfitting wise, I think I need to re-energize myself over the weekend and bring in some color.  Time to reboot.

Awaiting Arrival

Mikkat Market is having a sale and I've picked up these two sparkly finds: Sea Blue Dress Sequins Skirt I've been holding my breath on both of these items for quite some time. You may recall my lusting after this dress back in FEBRUARY!!!! Well the waiting paid off because now that the dress is on sale I feel it is a more justified purchase.  I know experts say if you aren't willing to pay full price for something then you probably shouldn't buy it when it's on sale, as in it's not something you'll really wear if you didn't pay full price, or it's not meant to be a part of you wardrobe if you're not willing to pay full price, blah, blah, blah.  I believe that buying something on sale that you wouldn't even consider at full price is a safe/cheaper way to experiment and try out new things. Yes you could end up with a hot mess, but then that's what consignment shops are for.

Weekend Whiskey Outfit

wrap-Modcloth(similar here ), top- Mikkat Market , jeans-Asos(similar here ), shoes- Style Mint , necklace-Forever21(similar here ) This past weekend Mr. Keller and I checked at Wigle in the strip district. The heat had broken so it was a great day to wear jeans and a light wrap seater. I could have gotten away with a t-shirt, but I like to pair jeans with something a bit more interesting when I'm out and about.  This top is kind of dressy, but the colors work so well with the denim and the wrap keeps things casual without being boring.  Now pictures of Wigle: Summer Soda--pomegranate juice, ginger beer, and Wigle rye whiskey

Fall 2012 Wish List

Every August I start making my "Back to Autumn" wish list, here are a few things I'm fancying: Stripes! Nothing really stands out about this, but I need a beige v-neck sweater This just screams fall, I may have to force Mr. Keller to take me hiking if I pick this up. All the above available at Jcrew I enjoy the military flavor. Available at Romwe So chic at Asos And an inspiration item from Burberry which I totally cannot afford . So just a few things to salivate over until autumn is here.
