I've been writing for the Union Hall Times these past few months and have been lucky to discover new locally-owned shops around Pittsburgh. Lucky, in that I've been meeting some amazing owners and learning more about the city, but not so lucky in that I'm at a full 6 months (yay!!!) into my Year of No Shopping and these store visits can be quite tempting. Last month I did a piece on Mid-Atlantic Mercantile and here are a few pics!
These aren't the greatest shots. I was solo with the camera that day, but as you can see Mid-Atlantic has both menswear and womenswear, accessories, and a nice little coffee cart in the shop on Saturdays! Mid-Atlantic focuses on independent designers and heritage brands. I'm definitely putting it on my must list for when the shopping fast ends in August. But that doesn't mean you can't check them out at 4415 Butler St. in Lawrenceville. And be sure to get a hard copy of the Union Hall Times at Bar Marco in the strip or The Livermore in East Liberty.
