Some close ups of the two prints...
And now for some bump pics!

I've had both this shirt and dress for several years. You may recall the shirt from posts here and here. But, this is apparently the first time this dress has made a blog appearance! It's a bit too dressy for work, however I busted it out last week because it still fits(!!!) and I'm in the midst of wearing-dresses-one-last-time before the growing baby bump renders them obsolete for the foreseeable future.
For this look, I wasn't necessarily trying to go with a mixed-print outfit, but more so going off of the similarity in colors with these two pieces. Off-white back ground with a blue-based print is the basis for both pieces and the reason they work together. True, I could have worn a basic blue, or white button-down, but when you have a chance to mix things up with prints why not, right?! The basis of this look -- a dressier frock with a tied-front shirt -- can be reiterated in a variety of ways and is a nice go-to outfitting strategy that we may see a few more times before the summer is over. Stay tuned!
