This outfit reminds me of Christina Applegate's character Swell from "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" a film that was an adolescent fave, and a fashion inspiration during my younger and more formative years. The oversized blazers, the mix of "adult" clothing with a teen badass sense of style, it's really a must-see for any burgeoning outfitter.
This outfit picks up on the current trend of a belt over a blazer, which not only creates a slimming effect, it also anchors the outfit. Without the belt this dress/blazer/leggings look comes off shapeless and a bit haphazard. And granted, leggings can swat toward juvenile, but here they act as an alternative to tights, now that we are in spring, but not quite ready for bare legs, at least not last week when I wore this outfit to work,
