I've always been a fan of Safari Chic when it comes to work wear. It may not be the most on-trend style at the moment, but it seems to keep coming back around. You may recall pasts outfits in this vein here and here. What most appeals to me about this aesthetic are its utility and menswear aspects.
For this outfit I took some standard office basics (pencil skirt and pinstriped shirt) and paired them with a military-inspired jacket, knee-boots, and this leather satchel to take on the Urban Jungle of Pittsburgh! True, the skirt and the jacket are not perfect match-ups color-wise, but it's not like they are meant to be a suit. The floral necklace adds a small feminine touch but still coordinates the colors in the rest of the look. My only quibble with this ensemble is the wrinkles in the skirt, but what can you do? I'm a professional woman, at my desk all day making shit happen... wrinkles are the costs of doing business.
