 Loving the color here! And I also love the mix of the sophisticated, tweed cropped trousers and the "distressed" effect of this punk rock sweater finished off by a topaz statement necklace. I let the colors dictate the pieces of this outfit, AND I was going to wear red heels with this look, but decided that functionally it wasn't going t fly, so I opted for navy loafers hence, the title of this post. 

 These shots were taken with Mr. Keller's smart phone and I'm kind of loving how they pick up the vibrancy of the colors AND their contrasts, particularly with the necklace photo.

We shot these pics in front of the mural on the Veterans Leadership Program building in the South Side. Public art is so necessary in life, don't you agree? It adds interest, texture, soul, and attitude, to a community AND it makes great background for outfit pics!

Rent the Runway to the Rescue

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Annie Lennox Realness!

Love the tuxedo detail of these cropped pants. coat/pants-Jcrew(similar here and here ), blazer-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Asos(sort of similar here ), shoes-DSW(really cool here ), gloves-Brian Atwood for Neiman Marcus/Target(more gloves here ), sunglasses-Banana Republic(similar here ) I'm feeling very Annie Lennox circa Eurythmics in this outfit, eh? Most times wearing a coat is a necessity, not necessarily an intricate part of the outfit, but here it really makes the look.
