I've done this type of pairing before here, here, and here and it's a great go-to for work wear. You may recall this post when I bought this dress on Labor Day weekend, and even though this is its first appearance on the blog, I've been wearing the crap out of this dress over the past few months. It's knit aka warm, comfy, polished, and office appropriate even without blazing it up.
I've been having some internal struggles with my professional wear since winter hit hard. I'm a manager in my grown-up life, and even though I work in an academic setting our office environment skews conservative, so it's a challenge to create interesting, creative, flattering, and stylish outfits while still being appropriate and taken seriously in my work. My role is very much behind-the-scenes so I don't interact in person with alumni, professors, donors, or senior staff on the day to day, but when I do I bring Professional-Woman-Realness, but on my off days I'd much prefer to have the freedom to tout a casual-creative work wardrobe... I'm thinking something along the lines of athleisure wear, wouldn't that be awesome!
adore the fun colors from your scarf. =D
