You may recall how was I was lusting after this dress here.  Well as you can see I gave into temptation BUT I justified it as I said I would and added a blazer to make this office appropriate.  And thankfully I did not have "boob squash" as I had feared.  What I enjoyed most about this outfit is the movement of the overskirt.  Even just walking from my desk to the water cooler the swish of the skirt put a little romance in my day.  Also, the mix of materials appeals to me, giving the look an extra bit of interest.  Speaking of bits of interest, how awesome is my deer necklace?  I haven't decided if I'm calling it my deer necklace, buck necklace, or antler necklace.  What do you think?

    Awentia is cherokee for fawn. L. Frank Baum of Wizard of Oz Fame wrote a christmas story with reindeer that included the names: Feckless and Speckless (rhymes with necklace ...) I want one! A necklace not a reindeer but a reindeer would be pretty cool but we're probably not zoned for one.

Rent the Runway to the Rescue

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Annie Lennox Realness!

Love the tuxedo detail of these cropped pants. coat/pants-Jcrew(similar here and here ), blazer-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Asos(sort of similar here ), shoes-DSW(really cool here ), gloves-Brian Atwood for Neiman Marcus/Target(more gloves here ), sunglasses-Banana Republic(similar here ) I'm feeling very Annie Lennox circa Eurythmics in this outfit, eh? Most times wearing a coat is a necessity, not necessarily an intricate part of the outfit, but here it really makes the look.
