Duck Boots & Print Mixing

cardi- Uniqlo , shirt- Gap , pants-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), scarf-H&M(similar here ), boots- Landsend Currently we're in the midst of a warm spurt and the all the snow is melting! So it's duck boots and a break from heavy heavy winter coats! I've been playing around with outerwear alternatives, as seen in yesterday's post , and here I slung my hooded trench (last seen here ) over my photographer/husband to show off the mix of plaid and florals. This OOTD is not revolutionary or groundbreaking by any means, it's just a functional and having fun with related prints.  Stay tuned for more alternative toppers and waterproof footwear while this warm weather lasts!

Windowpanes & Leather

coatigan-via Le Tote , tunic- ModCloth , pants/boots-Zara(similar here ), scarf-J.Crew Factory(similar here ) Currently experiencing a mid-winter thaw here in Pittsburgh, so I'm busting out some outerwear alternatives like this coatigan ! I matched up the windowpane pattern with this infinity scarf for a fun mirrored effective, then went with an edgy bottom half in leather pants and Chelsea boots. One of my favorite and unexpected color combinations, is black n' white with earth tones, like this olive tunic and burgundy shoes. Sure, it's really chic and graphic to stick with just black and white, but to switch things up you can throw in at least one, or two other shades in the mix.

Winter Beauty

Snow, and Ice, and Freezing Temps Oh MY! It's been winter with a capital "W" here this week, and with the frigid weather comes dull and dry skin, but don't worry I'm all geared up to keep my skin healthy here in the dead of winter. Check out some of my recent beauty buys and long-time favorites!   I've always been a fan of trying new beauty products, especially from under-the-radar brands, hello Aztec Healing Clay!  from Amazon I first heard about this product back in November via The Zoe Report and read that after the first application it can cause major breakouts, so I waited for my holiday break to give it a go. I haven't experienced breakouts, but I have noticed a definite improvement to the clarity and tone of my skin. This comes as a powder, which you can mix with water or apple cider vinegar to create the "clay". Then apply for 10-15 minutes and wait for it to harden. I have yet to feel the "pulsating" session adverti...

From Comfy to Classy

blazer-Ines de le Fressange for Uniqlo(current collection here ), blouse-Urban Outfitters(similarish here ), skirt-BCBGeneration(more skirts here ), tights- J.Crew , loafers-Zara(a badass version here ), bracelet-Gifted from World Finds Last week I was all about staying comfortable with leggings and a knit hat in this post, here . For today's OOTD I'm bringing classy-chic-realness in mixed prints and velvet. All of these pieces have done the rounds in various other outfits, but this is the first pairing of this blouse and skirt, which is surprising because each print speaks so well to the other. I only happened to notice it when these two garment ended up near to each other in a closet reshuffle. Just goes to show you, it helps to revise your wardrobe organization every so often.

Keeping it Comfortable

cardigan-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Wild Fang(similar here ), leggings- Amazon , boots- G.H. Bass , hat- Target , necklace-Gifted I'm feeling a bit rusty here with OOTD posts, but let's hop back on the horse shall we? 😀 Started with this oversized button-down (last seen here ) and paired it with these fleece-lined leggings, "coatigan", and cowboy-esque boots for a comfy midweek work outfit.  Now a bit of "mom" advice, while yes, we're having a brief thaw, it's still Winter so keep those coats and hats on! And wear socks!

My 2018 Must Haves

The weather is finally starting to break here in Pittsburgh, so OOTDs are coming soon! In the meantime I've started by my Shopping List of Must Haves for 2018. Carrier Bag This crossbody/shoulder bag hybrid from Moop is more than I usually spend on a day bag, but I'm ready to invest and upgrade! The neutral grey and waxed canvas makes this versatile and highly functional, both of which are must-have features for my Must-Haves of 2018, Momma ain't playin!  Waterproof Boot Speaking of functional and versatile, I'm in the market for a black, waterproof boot! This option from Nordstrom has tread and is nondescript is a good way, as in it doesn't look like a snowboot, just a neutral black boot, perfect for the office in winter. I'm very much over wearing a functional pair of shoes to get to work, then changing into a stylish pair for being at work. I want footwear that can serve me all day long. That's not asking too much, right? Vest Dre...
