Outfits Not Just Clothes

I paired it with the floral bomber jacket, last seen here . Keeping in mind the message on the bag I went with a tee n' jeans combo. The jewelry was from my latest Le Tote   and these wedges fit into the color palette. True a strappy wedge heel isn't really "tomboy," but part of tomboy revelry is rebellion, so there! 

Awaiting the arrival of the following items with giddy anticipation!!! Anthropolige Went back and forth on whether to get the black or the blue, decided on the black, as I can see this finding it's way in the fall with a turtleneck and boots. This pendant coordinates with the blouse perfectly! This is also the first piece of jewelry Mr, Keller every bought be, I love that it's both classic and a bit bohemian.  cardigan-H&M(similar here ), blouse- Sanctuary via Le Tote , pants- J.Crew , necklace-Gifted, ring- French Connection via Le Tote , loafers- Zara I'm a huge fan of mixing prints, and it's pretty much di rigueur for us style-maven bloggers. I kid, but really you can tell a skillful outfitter by her, or his print-mixing ability. These pinstripes being A. a classic pattern, and B. in neutralish shades act as a base, while the top, with the busier print takes the lead. It helps that the shirt is the same color-saturation level as the pants, so as not to appear to jarring with the prints against each other. Extreme close up of this antiquey love-bird necklace. Here you can see the jelly fish and "under the sea" motif of the blazer! I'm also a fan of standard pieces, like this blazer, with unexpected patterns, sea creatures anyone? Interesting details on straight-forward items like a button-down and a blazer have just enough push to be intriguing without being outlandish. Don't get my wrong, I love me some over-the-top fashion glamour, but in day-to-day life it just doesn't fly. Here, with pattern and some sparkle I'm able to bring a bit of whimsy to midweek work-wear.

Didn't have a chance to photographic it in action, but this flat layout gives you an idea of how they work together. With the sneakers and graphic stripes this outfit is serving some athleisure -realness, made work appropriate by the knit blazer. I'm also loving the bit of glam the necklace adds, and that it picks up the silver accent from the blazer's buttons. Outfitting, it's all in the details.

I'm a big proponent of belting, as it not only provides more shape and structure to the overall silhouette, but also gives a dress/one-piece more of a polished look.  Of course the real story here is this amazing and random piano we came across!!!  Yep, a painted piano on the corner of E. Carson and 19th St. available for any passerby to play a tune.  I'm sure the bar crawl crowd loves it!
