Wearing denim-on-denim has become a more acceptable trend than the Canadian Tuxedo of the 80's & 90's. Here, I've paired a chambray tunic/dress with a darkish wash cropped jean. The key to pulling off this style is two-fold: 1st, have a third non-denim piece to break things up (hello striped long-sleeve tee), and 2nd be sure there's a noticeable contrast in the shade of your denim garments. The easiest way to work distincitive washes is pairing black and white denim, or colored denim with standard blue. My outfit is right on the cusp of discernible tones... Anything closer in wash would look frumpy.
