Florals in Transition

 Here in Pittsburgh the transition between summer and autumn has unofficially started with morning temps in the 50s. Hence, transitional outfitting season has begun! By mixing these two floral prints I'm combining both summer whites and fall's black-background blooms. This bomber jacket, also speaks to the start of school with it's varsity style, while the tunic is a button-down alternative appropriate for the office, and the trousers are summer-boho romance. Needless to say there is A LOT going on in this look, in a good way, no?! And like in yesterday's post I'm pairing up black and navy, which used to be a fashion DON'T but works here with the mix of blues and other vibrant colors.

Rent the Runway to the Rescue

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Annie Lennox Realness!

Love the tuxedo detail of these cropped pants. coat/pants-Jcrew(similar here and here ), blazer-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Asos(sort of similar here ), shoes-DSW(really cool here ), gloves-Brian Atwood for Neiman Marcus/Target(more gloves here ), sunglasses-Banana Republic(similar here ) I'm feeling very Annie Lennox circa Eurythmics in this outfit, eh? Most times wearing a coat is a necessity, not necessarily an intricate part of the outfit, but here it really makes the look. And even though the blazer is covered up the hints of it, almost like a lining, work break up an all grey/white look.  And now for your viewing pleasure  Sweet Dreams:   Have a great weekend!
