These pants are REALLY high-waisted


Love the beading of this blouse.

Pocket square trick--pull out the lining and shape it up a bit.

These are some high-waisted pants, eh? And after some experimenting I ultimately decided to leave the blouse untucked to mitigate the intense rise of these trousers.  I just felt, at least for the office, the tucking in would verge on comical.  Other than that I kept accessories to a minimum.  With all this color and embellishment I didn't feel the need to load up on rings, bracelets, etc.  Just a simple, elegant necklace and some kill-lah heels.    Yes this blouse is very sheer so rest assured the blazer will be staying on while at work, but once 5 o'clock/cocktail time hits taking it off will make for a very easy transition from a day look to a evening outfit.

Hamptons-Poolside-Chic meets Sue Ellen Ewing Early '80's Realness

Okay, this post title is ridiculous I know, BUT come on, it's accurate am I right? blouse- JOA via Le Tote , necklace/bracelet- Le Tote , trousers- Zara , belt-J.Crew,(similar here ) wedges- Sole Society These pleated drapey pants scream early 80's glamour. Paired with this sailor-suit-esque blouse I was definitely ready for a seaside cocktail party, right? This outfit also called to mind the elegance of early 80's  Dallas .  It has been my experience that as a child of the 80's one's house was either in the Dallas camp or the Dynasty camp. We were a Dallas household for sures. So, one of my earliest style influences was Sue Ellen Ewing . Cowboy Boots & Floral Skirts

Western wear has seen a resurgence here with the Cowboy Carter of it all, among other influences. I'm not one for cowgirl cosplay, but I do enjoy a good boot.
