Trench Coat Weather

You can see how the necklace and heels mirror each other in color. Oh and there's a cigarette butt, lovely!   trench-Gap(similar here ), sweater/pants-Jcrew(similar here and here ), shirt- Ralph Lauren , heels-DSW(similar here ), necklace-Anthropologie(sort of similar here )   We are slowly easing into trench coat weather and I am very excited by that prospect. A classic trench coat is a chic must-have for the spring. I've had this one for a few years and it could probably do with a good ironing, but even a bit crumpled it's still a great way to top off an outfit. Especially this drapey-cropped-trouser-and-orange-sweater-with-statement-necklece outfit! Say that five times fast...

Rainey Day Polka Dots & Another Pair of Glasses

Let me just take this off for a sec... The bracelet and necklace nicely mirror each other without being too matchy matchy.  coat-Joe Fresh(similar here ), blazer-Forever 21(similar here ), dress / necklace -Jcrew Factory, boots-Target(similar here ), bracelet- Jewel Mint , glasses- Penn Avenue Eyewear Two things! 1) Joe Fresh will soon be offering shipping to the US! 2) These glasses from Penn Avenue are called "Joan" and I think they suit me way better than the Shannon pair from this post . What say you?  And thirdly, (I know I had "two things" above) it's the first day of spring! But, we're not out of the woods yet my friends. Keep those tights and overcoats handy, we' have a few more weeks of chilly days ahead.

Reading at the Monongalia Art Center

Tuesday, March 25th I'll be reading at the Monongalia Art Center in Morgantown, WV in conjunction with the exhibit Les Femmes Folles: WV to celebrate Women's History Month AND the release of I ntimates and Fools available here on Amazon. Intimates and Fools (Les Femmes Folles Books, 2014): Coupling body art and poetry, Intimates and Fools intimates the complicating pairing of the female form and cultural notions of beauty while playfully seeking to bare and bear such burdens of their weight. Poetry by Laura Madeline Wiseman; body art and illustrations by Sally Deskins. I will be joined by  area poets Marjorie Fuller and Kayla Sargeson.  You may recall Kayla from a post way back when here .  For more info on the Monongalia Art Center check this out. For info on Les Femmes Folles look here .

Teal & Red

coat-Zara(similar here ), trousers/sweater/necklace-Jcrew Factory(similarish  here , here, and here ), shirt-BCBG(sort of similar here ), heels-DSW(similar here ), ring- Jewel Mint I wanted to get at least one more wear in of these cropped trousers before we hit full-on spring. As a tweed cropped trouser they are best suited for fall and early winter, but the teal shade gives them an early springtime feel.  I kept with the teal in this simple v-neck sweater and then started thinking which close-toe pumps worked best, hence the red shoe, which prompted the red button-down underneath. Overall, fun colors for a fairly dreary day.

Shake Shake Shake

coat-Joe Fresh(similar here ), shirt / flats -Jcrew Factory, pants- Peter Pilotto for Target , necklace- Le Tote , sunnies- Penn Avenue Eyewear After a long day at work I untucked my shirt and Mr. Keller and I decided to treat ourselves with some Shamrock Shakes . We rarely frequent McDonald's(or any fast food place in gens) but this minty treat is kind of a March tradition, a little indulgence. So excuse me whilst I imbibe during these pics.   As for the outfit, it's all about color, pattern, and texture. This Peter Pilotto for Target pant is the rare kind of garment that works as a basic, but also has fun details that make it stand out with the stripe accents AND it seemed magically made to pair with my Joe Fresh coat. I kept the color palette black and white, while adding another print with this shirt. The Le Tote necklace last seen in this post works like a bolo tie, yet adds a feminine flair to this shirt and pants combo. ...
