Jaunty Hat Outfit

shirt-Nasty Gal(sort of similar here ), sweater-Jupe Boutique(cute sweater here ), pants- Gap , necklace/bracelet- Jewel Mint , loafers-DSW(similar here ), hat-Jcrew(cute hat here ) A cute little outfit from last week. I've had these cropped pants from the Gap for years and they still hold up in pictures and for realses. I'm a big fan of the Gap's  premium pant collection . I was just espousing their virtue to one of my styling clients the other day.   I have four pairs, including these, and they have held up well over the years and are great foundational basics. Plus, good quality for the money. I figured there was enough color going on already in this outfit and that a simple black cropped pant would ground the look. And, of course I love a knit cap.

Two Things

First: Isabel Marant's collocation for H&M debuts today in select stores AND online at noon, so you may want to get up on that.  Here are a few looks I'm lusting after. Hello mixed patterns!   Love the oversized coat and the detail on these jeans.   Patterned blazer, cropped colorful trousers, yes please!   Of course, I cannot partake in this collection with my Year Of No Shopping, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. So get ready to go by noon because I'm sure this noise will sell out fast.   Number Two: I'm thinking about a new haircut.  Something along the lines of Tilda Swinton .     What do we think? I'm not going to go blond, but I like the shorter/buzzed sides and back with length on the top. Mr. Keller is hesitant, he thinks it's too masculine, but I'm kind of in the mood to go a bit edgy and I've had the same cut now for two-ish years...  FYI: Tilda Swinton is my spirit animal!   ...

Winter is Here and I'm Jonesing for Jcrew

Winter is Here and I'm Jonesing for Jcrew by bernadetteulsamer featuring a bubble necklace Snow has fallen and with the colder temperatures the cravings come out.  Just got the most recent Jcrew catalog in the mail and I WANT EVERYTHING! But as you well know I am doing a Year Of No Shopping, so I'm placating myself with  Polyvore Boards and trying to see what my closet already contains that is similar in style and shape .

Coat Over Belted Dress

coat-Zara(similar here ), dress- Le Tote , belt-Urban Outfitters(more belts here ), boots-DSW(similar here ), necklace- Jewel Mint This shirt-dress and boots are definitely channeling a '70's vibe. I can see Carol Brady rocking this look, in a good way. The teal dress and purple coat really pop here and now that jackets/coats are de rigeuer  with the colder weather, better to pop then to not. Holy buckets it snowed!

Repeat Blazer Outfit

blazer- Luciano Barber a via Threadflip , shirt- Old Navy , leggings-Zara(similar here ), scarf-Ralph Lauren(similar here ), shoes-Forever21(similar here ), bracelets-Banana Republic Factory Store(more bracelets here )   I featured this blazer just last week on this post . Here I'm wearing it for a casual look again, but this time with a bit more edge in black leggings and animal print wedges. I've tried this blazer for more professional looks , but I think it works better topping off laidback outfits. What do you think?

Casual Friday

blazer-Banana Republic(more blazers here ), blouse-Gap(sort of similar here ), pants-Saks off 5th(similar here ), scarf- American Apparel , boots-Forever 21(similar here ), sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ) Skinny cargos, blazer, blouse, scarf, and boots -- a standard fall look for a casual Friday. Its been a long week... and I could use nap.
