Peggy Olsen Drag

Office AC requires layers so I added this sweater and switched to flats for later in the day which created a bit of a school girl look.       dress- Calvin Klein (thrifted), sweater- Style Mint , necklace-gifted, heels-Forever 21(similar here ), loafers-Bass Outlet(more options here ), bracelet- Cookie Lee     I picked up this dress at the Red, White, & Blue thrift and was kind of blah about it. But it has actually become a nice addition to my closet.  Normally, a drop-waist dress wouldn't be something I'd go for, but it works here. Which just goes to show that sometimes you have to take a chance and try things on.   I started the day in my heels and bare shoulders, but as the AC at work got going and running up and down stairs got old I transitioned into a sweater and loafers.  Both versions of this outfit remind me of Peggy Olsen from Mad Men .  I...

Boating Party Outfit

tunic/belt/bracelet- Le Tote , shorts / sandals -Jcrew Factory, necklace- Jewel Mint , bag-Nine West(similar here ), sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here )  Saturday found Mr. Keller and myself at a surprise birthday party at the dock where our friends keep their boat. So this is my boat party outfit. This tunic from my most recent Le Tote served as a top tucked into shorts.  The colors in this outfit are what make it for me.  The way these blue tones work together makes everything pop AND blue tones, water, boat... there's a subtle theme here.

Mary Katrantzou Inspried Outfit Realized

blazer-Asos(similar here ), blouse-Jcrew Factory(similar here ), pants-Dorothy Perkins(similar here ), heels-Prabal Gurung for Target(on ebay ), necklace- Mikkat Market , bracelet/ring- Jewel Mint I first conceived this outfit in this post .  Now here it is in the flesh with a few alternations. Namely, I went with a color-block blouse instead of the original handkerchief print shirt. It was a happy accident how well this blouse matched the pants color wise, and you can't ignore that magic, when it comes to outfits there are no coincidences... And yes we are in the side yard with the neighbors drainage tube in the background, GLAMOUR!

Recent Buys for Portland Vacation Outfit

Some recent purchases: Threadflip   Nifty Thrifty   Nifty Thrifty I'm thinking all three of these items will be included in my suitcase for a trip out to the West Coast.  In July Mr. Keller and I are going to Portland and then out to Vancouver Island, quite an adventure.  And when I think of Adventure I think overalls. Of course I'm no Huck Finn so a blazer will nicely class up an overall outfit. Hehehe, get it? An overall outfit and I'm packing overalls, :)  Yeah, it doesn't take much to make me giggle.  But seriously, walkable boots and a straw hat (again calling back to a Huck Finn theme) would be a great outfit for a Northwest Vaca.  Don't you think?    Portland Vacation Outfit by bernadetteulsamer featuring oska

Summer Office Uniform

Happy accident of the stripe lining up with the shoe strap and heel. Really proud of this selfie detail shot. It took a few tries before I got something presentable. cropped trousers/vest/necklace-Banana Republic(similar here ,  here and here ), shirt-Jcrew(similar here ), rings- Le Tote and Jewel Mint , heels- Forever21 Another selfie. You may recall an iteration of this outfit from this post . I switched up the blouse and shoes to amp up the stripe effect of the cropped trousers. I think I'll go with a leather belt for my next go round with this vest to have a firmer cinch.  I'm very much enjoying the vest/sleeveless jacket for summer office outfitting, provides structure and keeps things cool.
