Outfits Not Just Clothes

 Here again we have a white denim jacket for spring from some outfit pics taken a few weeks ago. You may recall last week's post featuring the same jacket here .  In this look I went with a more romantic and bohemian styling.  jacket- J.Crew , jumpsuit--Thrifted from Fashion Fix , blouse-Banana Republic(similar here ), necklace s/ bracelets /rings-Nordstrom (other), Mejuri earrings / belt -Amazon, watch- Monroe , bag- Samara , boots- DSW I love the contrast of rustic pieces like the jacket and cowboy boots with the floral oversized jumpsuit and gold jewelry. This belt is part of a set I got at Amazon, which I realize is a retailer that needs to be held accountable for it's practices and CEO. I've re-purchased better versions of this belt from Bella Belt  (the instagram adds got me)and I no longer plan on sporting the Amazon belts or promoting them in anyway.  It's a fine line to walk when thinking about the power of your purchase.  As of last summer a go-to garment for warm weather has become this pleated skort/tennis skirt. And lately I've been loving to pair it with this white denim jacket. Big fan in general of white denim jackets for spring as seen in this post from two years ago. And I apparently love them for fall as well as seen in this post . 😉 Here, as in previous looks I've kept the outfit to a mostly black and white palette. jacket-J.Crew(similar here ), t-shirt-Stevie Nicks(current merch here  more general options from Etsy here ), skort/hat-Gap(similar here and here ), bag- Everlane , sneakers- Vans I love the graphic aspect of these photos of the cloudy sky against the lush green of Frick Park here in Pittsburgh. It's been a chillier spring than in years past, but we've had a few warm days for bare legs and light jackets. Sometimes a good outfit can be a simple t-shirt & jeans, with boots and a blazer for a bit of polish. I also layered in a chambray shirt for some denim-on-denim action, which is a styling trick I really like for spring. Of course this t-shirt serves up a message.  "They Didn't Burn Witches They Burned Women" blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), shirt-Gap(similar here ), T-shirt- TeePublic ,  jeans- Universal Standard , bracelets- Nordstrom , ring-Mejuri(similar here ), boots-DSW(similar here ) On the surface there's nothing revolutionary about this look. Again, a fairly simple formula of jeans, tee, blazer, and boots with a layered chambray shirt. However, the bright orange and how it plays on the colors of the T-shirt, and of course the messaging makes these clothes an outfit.  I'm not going to presume that I'm changing the world by wearing a feminist T-shirt, but it's in the small ways and subtle cues is part of making a difference especially for these two...
