Sunday Style

This past Sunday we took a little trip down to the Waterfront to check out the labyrinth and I took the opportunity to tryout this look. A mash-up of nautical and preppy pieces, with a bit of sportiness. Warning --there is a very weird/enlarged picture of my ear below... 👂 blazer- Tory Burch  via Fashion Fix (additional options via Poshmark ) shirt-- Altuzarra for Target (additional options via Poshmark ), pants- J.Crew , sunnies- Kate Spade via FabFitFun earrings- Tissage via Etsy , necklace- J.Crew Factory , watch-- Fossil , bracelet-- Bayou With Love Picked up this amazing designer blazer last fall at a local consignment store. This shirt (very old) is from a designer collab with Target, and these pants are the standard cropped trouser I tend to favor. I've been recently experimenting with clip-on earrings, as my piercings from childhood have long ago grown closed.  I've paired these earrings with this necklace in prior outfits, added them to this look taking inspir

Goodbye Pavement

This past weekend I visited one of my favorite shops here in Pittsburgh, Pavement  in Lawrenceville. Unfortunately this was my last visit, as it's closing here on March 31st . I first discovered this store back in 2013 making occasional visits and always finding great items, as seen here , here , and here . I even did a write-up on the store way back in 2014 for the now defunct Union Hall Times. So, while I'm sad to see them go, I'm hoping for the best for the owner and her next chapter. Definitely glad I got in once last visit. Here are a few dressing rooms pics! I really wanted to love this dress for the pattern, length, and pockets, but the neckline and top half were off fit-wise. Which is a shame since this dress went great with my Bombas socks. 😜🧦 top--Boden(similar here ) skirt-- Three Dots Cute, right?! Look at her! Did I question whether or not I was too old for this top/skirt combo? Yes, of course I did. Did I let that stop me from purchasing both, hell no! Wil

Happy St. Patrick's Day

tee- Commonwealth Press T hese pics were taken with Mr. Keller's phone at Rugger's Pub before we got down to the task of day drinking for parade day this past Saturday. Not much to say on the outfit front, just wore my celebratory tee-shirts, jeans, and sneakers.  Here's a little history for you...   St. Patrick's Day is  a feast day honoring the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick's Day was originally intended as a holy day to observe the arrival of Christianity into Ireland. St. Patrick himself was English, not Irish. He was born into an aristocratic family, but was kidnapped and taken to Ireland. Eventually, he escaped, went home, became a priest, and returned to Ireland to convert the natives to Christianity.   Until fairly recently, St. Patrick's Day was celebrated only as a religious holiday in Ireland. People were given the day off from work; they went to church, and then they shared a big roast dinner with their families. The pubs were

Staying Brighter Longer

Hello Friends! It's been an extremely long break from posting, but now that we've gained an hour of sunshine I'm feeling rejuvenated and motivated to capture outfit pics to post for those of you still left and interested. The main reason for my blogging hiatus was that I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last fall. I had surgery to remove my thyroid and after follow-up all signs point to being cancer-free!!! However, this has left my throat and voice effected. Thankfully I have lots of turtlenecks and collared shirts to coverup my surgery scar for the time being as I continue to heal and recovery.  I hope you all know deep down, that while I wasn't posting I most certainly was still outfitting, case in point....  coat-H&M(similar here ), vest-Asos(more options here and here ), shirt-Wildfang(similar here ), skirt- Mimu Maxi  leggings- Spanx , rings- Mejuri , earrings- Amazon mask/chain- MASKC This outfit is a direct inspiration from this Vogue article.
