Matchy Match the Holiday Edition

You may recall the various #twinning posts with my daughter here , here , and here . Well this past spring I gave birth to another daughter and the idea of coordinating a baby, toddler, and mommy outfits may send me over the edge (in a good way) for this upcoming holiday season. I now have coordinated ensembles for both Thanksgiving & Christmas this year. Needless to say I am SUPER pysched, getting literal chills just thinking about the pics.  First up, Thanksgiving!  Old Navy Wrap Toddler Dress Baby Dress For these three dresses I simply typed "burgundy florals" into the search at OldNavy.com and found these beauties. The great thing about the search feature at Old Navy, Gap, etc. is the results pull from across collections so you can simultaneous browse baby, toddler, women, and men to help you find coordinated pieces for the whole family.  True, florals are more of a spring/summer motif, but the burgundy base and rich colors make them appropri

One Tall Glass of Plaid

coatigan-Madewell(similar here ), shirtdress-Nordstrom(similar here ), boots-Lifestride via DSW(similar here ), sunnies- Target   I love a brooding fall look, and this OOTD is serving up all of the brood with this black and grey, plaid maxi flannel shirtdress hybrid. There is some serious length drama with this garment, but at the same time it's so cozy and of course I'm loving the pockets. A coordinated coatigan and flat boots complete this autumn ensemble.  On a side note: I've been able to manage my hair better thanks to this Garnier Hair Mask . I can't believe it took me so long to figure out deep conditioning when you think about how adamant I am about moisturizer. Oh well, the important point is that I'm feeling better about my hair.

Style Dilemma

cardigan-Gap(similarish here ), dress- Amazon , necklace-J.Crew(more options here ), ring-Jewel Mint(similar here via Poshmark ), kicks- Zara , sunnies- Target This OOTD is an amalgamation of functional needs wrapped up(pun intended) in what I hope are fashionable choices. First, it's still hot AF here in Pittsburgh in OCTOBER(!!!!). So, I needed something lightweight, but not too skimpy for the office. I went with this polka-dot maxi sundress last seen here , and styled it with a wrap-cardi for work appropriate coverage. Then accessorized with fashion sneakers, a statement necklace, and my go-to polka-dot sunnies. It's a bit of a hodge podge of items, but overall I think it's a fun look. Or, who knows...? This unending summer weather has really put me through the ringer. I have so few options that fit, are comfortable, are appropriate, and are nursing-friendly here in this heat and humidity. I broke down some of my outfitting/b

Length & Layers

cardi- Old Navy , shirt-Violeta(similar here ), joggers-Anthropologie(similar here ), flats-Dr. Scholls Shoes(similar here ), jewelry-Jewel Mint(available here and similar here via Poshmark ) Keeping things casual, yet with a side of drama thanks to the length and sweep of this "nursing" cardigan and long-tailed button-down tunic. I love the sweep and drape created with the pairing of these two relatively simple pieces. Printed joggers and polka-dot flats keep it from being too minimalist. Not that's there's anything wrong with minimalism, but a navy legging would  have been too simple, while jeans would have been too heavy.

Monday Morning Hair

cardigan-Anthropologie(similar here ), shift-Everlane(similar here ), boots- Lifestride via DSW , sunnies- Target This Monday morning doing "something" with my hair was just not in the cards. So I let the color and cut do the heavy lifting and focused on the pairing of this pocketed shift and oversized cardigan. I love how the hem of the sweater and dress just about line up, makes for an edgier, more modern look, than a standard cardigan that comes halfway up the dress. Another interesting feature of this OOTD, is the dress's collar and buttoned placket. True, there's nothing that revolutionary going on here, but it's these simple details that elevate the overall look, plus the boots! Hey, when your hair just won't anymore, you've got to compensate in your clothes, amiright?!
