Personal Style as Personal Expression

blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), shirt-Anthropologie(similar here ), pants-Uniqlo(similar here ), flats- Gap I'll readily admit that I don't really feel like myself without my personal style. Lately my style has been wavering (at least in my own estimation) as my body is still transitioning/settling after having baby #2. Not being able to fit into my clothes, especially workwear, has given my self esteem quite a blow, which you can read more about here .  Also, what the F is happening with my hair?  Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I only feel good about myself when I look a certain way. OR, that I need to look a certain way in order to have self worth. What I'm saying that I'm currently in the midst of negotiating a new sense of myself(what with motherhood and getting older in general) and how I want/can reflect/express that in my personal style.  Speaking of which, this OOTD is yet another iteration of m...

Mommy & Me in the Same Color Family

cardi-Similar here from Banana Republic , dress-Gap(similar here ), boots-H&M(similar here ), necklace-Jewel Mint(available here from Poshmark ), toddler clothes-Carter's(similar pieces here and here ), sneakers- Tsukihoshi via Littles Shoes It's been exactly one year since the last #twinning post with my daughter, here . And while we're not necessarily as coordinated as we have been in the past, here and here . We are outfitting in the same color family of blues and purples. For my look, now that Fall has officially started I've styled this retro-esque dress, last seen here , with a cardigan and booties . For Little Miss she's getting in some last wears of this sleeveless chambray tunic and these polka-dot leggings. She's growing so fast!

A Wren & Ivory Wrap

dress- Wren & Ivory , therma l / flats -Gap, necklace-gifted  I've featured Wren & Ivory on two shopping posts ( here & here ), and now I've finally taken the plunge with this cotton faux-wrap frock. It's hitting most of my must-haves as listed in this post last week. It's nursing-friendly, has pockets, is work-appro, AND is both stylish and flattering if I do say so myself. I layered it with a go-to thermal henley, then added a pop of color with these comfy flats. It's such a boost to find garments that provide solutions to my outfitting needs, and while this dress leans towards a summery/spring style, I can totally make it work for fall/winter. Glad I ordered a size up for the layering potential.

In Neutral Mode

cardi-Banana Republic(similar here ), dress/ sunnies -Target(similar dress here ), belt-Gap(more belts here ), sneakers- VANS , necklace-Anthropologie(similar here ) I'm currently in a neutrals mood when it comes to workwear, as seen here and here . I think black and beige is so on-point for September, as it gives a nod to the coming fall, but still has a hint of the summer weather we must endure. This also works with black and olive, and navy and beige. I tend to stay away from whites this time of year because they are too "fresh" for this transitional season from summer to fall. At this point of the season, I'm just trying to get through the weather I hate sweaty Septembers. Longing for crisp mornings, cool evenings, long sleeves, and plaids. Come on Autumn!
