Another dress as maternity top for this OOTD. You may recall when I was able to wear this as a dress on it's own from this post, wherein there are better shots to see the hiding bunnies in this floral print. Now in the 3rd trimester I'm utilizing it as a tunic with a knit skirt and blazer. Note, that the sheer tights (which add some texture to this black and grey ensemble) are the only actual maternity piece I'm wearing. I feel like I could write a manifesto on non-maternity maternity wear. I have lots of feelings on the subject but have yet to articulate them...
Basically, unless you have an unlimited budget it's hard to justify spending much on maternity wear because it has such a short shelf life. As opposed to finding pieces that you can wear while pregnant that will also be flattering post-pregnancy. After my first baby, I found that certain maternity style pieces, while they still fit after having the baby, just made me feel lumpy, dumpy, and overall not good about my body. So, it's both a practical money issue, and an emotional one. Wow, I guess I was able to articulate it!
