Now that my big news from yesterday's post is out of the bag, I've been much more mindful of the functionality of garments, both for my expanding belly and the eventual need to expose a boob, i.e. tops appropriate for nursing come post-delivery. From Anthropologie's mid-summer sale I picked up these pieces:
Knit Dress also ordered the same number in blue!
Henley Tank I may have to pick up a few more in different colors. The buttons pictured are functional, hence more ease for nursing access.
This Shirtdress will be perfect for a upcoming vacay to Bar Harbor, Maine in September AND I'm thinking with leggings and cardis it'll be great come fall.
I also took advantage of J.Crew's 40% off sale items and scored two pairs of "pull-on" pants!
The key thing with each purchase is that none of these items are "maternity" but rather looser-fit versions of "regular" clothes. My plan/strategy is to try and stay out of/not buy maternity clothes until the last trimester. These purchases are strategic for that plan AND I'm thinking will see me through the post-partum period as I work to regain my pre-pregnancy body. Fingers crossed...
