A Go-To Fall Outfit

shirt/jeans/bracelet-J.Crew Factory(similar here , here , & here ), scarf- Blue Pacific Fashion via Le Tote , heels-Mikkat Market(sort of similar here ), necklace/rings- Jewel Mint , necklace-Forever 21(similar here ), bag-J.Jill/Gifted(similar here )  A simple Sunday morning outfit here with jeans, shirt, scarf, and heels. Of course, I put my own spin on things pairing a floral with a plaid, which works since they are from the same color family. These boyfriend jeans ground the look and the gold accents in the heels and jewelry give it a bit of glam. Ever since I picked up these jeans, made mention of here , I've been meaning to wear them with a posh pair of heels. I think this just may become my casual fall uniform for the season, in different variations of course. It's always nice to have a go-to outfit, so yeah, you may see this jeans, button-down, scarf match-up again soon.

Chelsea Boots & Bird Pants

I love this topaz necklace paired with denim, feels so crisp, so autumn, right?  These boots are giving me LIFE! blazer / boots / shirt -Gap, pants-Uniqlo(similar here ), ring-Francesca's(more rings here ), necklace- Le Tote , sunnies-Cookie Lee(more sunnies here ) These boots are primed to be my go-to shoe for fall. They are way more comfy than my stiletto black booties and I love the rough n' tough, tomboy feel of them. These slouchy pants from Uniqlo are so simple, yet so graphic and I have been thinking about pairing them with a denim shirt since they arrived. I added the blazer to give this a semi-professional air since this was a casual Friday work outfit.

Fall 2014 Must-Haves

I really didn't pay much attention to the NYFW shows earlier this month, but I'll eventually sort through them at some point. Until then I've started my Fall/Pre-Winter must-haves wishlist: Gap Gap Uniqlo Mango So yeah, I'm feeling black jeans and chelsea boots from Gap's new " Dress Normal" campaign.  And I'm also really digging the idea of vests, both in terms of warmth/utility, and also as a suiting alternative. Going into winter I'll be in the market for a mixed media coat, something that's elegant, but also functional. I have my eye on this option: Asos The mix of textures gives this visual interest, which is essential for a winter coat that gets worn day in and day out. Plus, this looks really warm while still be super chic.  To check out more pieces I have my eye on follow my Things I Crave board over on Pinterest here .

A "Midi" Skirt

Some action shots for you here, adjusting my heels.  shirt-Old Navy(similar here ), skirt-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), necklace/bracelet- Cookie Lee , rings- Jewel Mint , heels-Forever 21(similar here ) This skirt is a great statement piece and can really elevate a look, as seen here . Technically it's a pencil skirt and should be way more cinching, however I bought this several years and larger sizes ago. I can't remember if I've had it taken in or not, but with the looser fit I can wear it lower on my hips and get a midi-skirt effect, which is trending at the moment. This shirt is also loose and slouchy adding to the whole deshabille-chic vibe that I was going for in this midweek work outfit.

Tweed & Plaid--Fall Is HERE

top-J.Crew(sort of similar here ), shirt- Ralph Lauren , pants- Uniqlo , bowtie- American Apparel , loafers- G.H. Bass When conceiving this outfit I hadn't intended on including a bow-tie, in fact I haven't worn one in quite some time. My last tie look was over a year ago here .  However, in the rush of getting ready yesterday morning I couldn't decide on a necklace so I just snatched up this bow-tie and am quite pleased with the overall effect. I'm really digging the way this textured top's neckline frames the tie and acts as a fabric necklace.  As for the rest, it's offiically autumn and that means plaid and tweed, sure it's bit expected, but it works!  I know, I know, in yesterday's post I said I was going to go all neutral/minimalistic this fall, but you know what? "Do I contradict myself?/Very well then I contradict myself,/ (I am large, I contain multitudes.)" Some Walt Whitman there for you!
