Christmas List-making

I know it's not even Halloween yet, but I've started my Christmas list. Actually, I'm a bit late this year. I like to start in August (since I get paid only once a month) for budgetary reasons. Every year it gets harder and harder to shop for gifts for my family. None of us really NEED anything and while giftcards/$ is more practical it's still nice to have something to open up.  Also, I do like to put a bit of thought into it to show I care.  So here are a few ideas for this year.

 
Luna Lemon Zest Bars
 
I think these would be great stocking stuffers, I prefer the Lemon Zest flavor, they have a variety.
 

Set of 8 Classic stories from LTD Commodities
 
Possibly for my Godson, but I don't think he's much of a reader, or I may get these for my close girlfriends as a kind of a nostalgic gift.
 

State Dishtowels from Uncommon Goods
 
I'm thinking for my brother and sister-in-law. He's from PA, she's from Illinois and they live on Colorado, so that would be a cute set.

These are a riot, but I really don't have a good candidate for this gift.  I mean, they are way too quirky for a parent gift and I don't think my boss would appreicate a "heart" pillow. Maybe for my Godson, we shall see.

Rent the Runway to the Rescue

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Annie Lennox Realness!

Love the tuxedo detail of these cropped pants. coat/pants-Jcrew(similar here and here ), blazer-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Asos(sort of similar here ), shoes-DSW(really cool here ), gloves-Brian Atwood for Neiman Marcus/Target(more gloves here ), sunglasses-Banana Republic(similar here ) I'm feeling very Annie Lennox circa Eurythmics in this outfit, eh? Most times wearing a coat is a necessity, not necessarily an intricate part of the outfit, but here it really makes the look.
