Inadvertently the shoes dictated the color combos of this whole outfit.  Actually, I'm pretty sure that the girls at Style Mint and those at Shoe Mint collaborated on the color schemes behind the shirt and heels because they just beg to be together, don't you think?  The shirt by itself is fairly casual, but having killer heels and this blazer makes it more office appropriate. 

You know the ladies at work think I wear some crazy pieces, but I like to point out that in terms of the silhouette, not so much. I just have fun with color and pattern, which you can totally pull off if you keep the shapes conservative and in nice fabrics.  Just a little bit of insight there for you.  Happy Monday! (I can't believe I just did a "happy monday" shout out, scratch that. Screw Monday! The only good thing about Mondays for me, is they are the beginning of another week of outfitting opportunities.)

Rent the Runway to the Rescue

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Annie Lennox Realness!

Love the tuxedo detail of these cropped pants. coat/pants-Jcrew(similar here and here ), blazer-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Asos(sort of similar here ), shoes-DSW(really cool here ), gloves-Brian Atwood for Neiman Marcus/Target(more gloves here ), sunglasses-Banana Republic(similar here ) I'm feeling very Annie Lennox circa Eurythmics in this outfit, eh? Most times wearing a coat is a necessity, not necessarily an intricate part of the outfit, but here it really makes the look. And even though the blazer is covered up the hints of it, almost like a lining, work break up an all grey/white look.  And now for your viewing pleasure  Sweet Dreams:   Have a great weekend!
