Here we have another showing of the light blue cropped trouser. You may recall it from here and here and here! In all four outfits I've utilized these crops with blouses and blazers.  And I would like to think all four looks showcase the variety this "uniform" of cropped trousers, blouse, and blazer can have.  On another note this is a DIANE VON FURSTENBERG blazer!!!!  I got it on disgusting sale, and I think the eggplant color will work beautifully in the fall and winter.  Usually, if I buy a designer piece I go for a dress, which makes more of a statement. Quality building block pieces like blazers and trousers can be found at much more reasonable price points, but when an item is a phenomenal deal you have to jump on it.

Rent the Runway to the Rescue

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Annie Lennox Realness!

Love the tuxedo detail of these cropped pants. coat/pants-Jcrew(similar here and here ), blazer-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Asos(sort of similar here ), shoes-DSW(really cool here ), gloves-Brian Atwood for Neiman Marcus/Target(more gloves here ), sunglasses-Banana Republic(similar here ) I'm feeling very Annie Lennox circa Eurythmics in this outfit, eh? Most times wearing a coat is a necessity, not necessarily an intricate part of the outfit, but here it really makes the look. And even though the blazer is covered up the hints of it, almost like a lining, work break up an all grey/white look.  And now for your viewing pleasure  Sweet Dreams:   Have a great weekend!
