Rainy Day Walk

The one good thing about self-isolation, staying at home, and quarantine here this spring is that at least you can go for a walk. I've been taking my daily walk in the Homewood Cemetery  since it's near my house and everyone there is already keeping 6-feet apart! 😁 Bad jokes aside, the other day we got a few pics of this fairly cute walking look.  The inner elasticized cuff is a key functional detail, while the open sleeve over it is a stylish one. Fashion and function working together!  raincoat- Cath Kidston via Asos (similarish here ), sweater-Gap(similar here ), jeans- Levi's , boots- Landsend This simple look plays right into one of this year's chicest trends-- monochromatic dressing . And while there are more on-point denim silhouettes right now, I really love the fit and feel of these skinny jeans. I have the same pair in black and it's such a classic style that suits me. As I've said before, trends come and

Working From Home

So the past month has been quite a challenge for everyone. And I am very blessed to still be gainfully employed and able to work from home. And like may folks who are continuing their jobs from home I've been in a number of Zoom, Teams, and Skype meetings. And by now everyone has their WFH business up top, casual on the bottom go-to looks.  Here are two of mine from earlier this month. blouse-- Le Tote , sweats-- Forever 21 Men (similar here ) This is a familiar outfit for all of us nowadays. Simply patterned shirts and comfy black sweatpants for a few "check-in" zoom calls with my co-workers.    For the "BIG" meetings with senior staff, or if I have to present official shit, I like to class it up a bit.  blouse- J.Crew , leggings-Zara(similar here ), necklace- Le Tote I even tried to zhuzh my hair a bit more on this day. I like alternating between baggier pants and more fitted bottoms. It's been on the chillier side here recen

An 80's Kind of Day

blazer-Gap(more options here ), shirt--Banana Republic(similar here ) belt-Vintage, pants-Zara(similar here ), necklace -Le Tote, boots -Sam Edelman via Nordstrom Another pre-social distancing OOTD, this time with quasi-80's power bitch vibes. Not my normal aesthetic but this oversized tweed blazer and (faux) leather pants are definitely in my style wheelhouse. Both the jacket and trousers have a menswear tone, so this striped, puffy-shoulder top adds a balancing feminine/whimsical element. This vintage braided belt was a bit of an after thought but I love how it literally pulls this look together.  It's been an interesting few weeks, and while I had hoped to get back to regular posting here this spring it doesn't seem to be in the cards. I may try some #workingfromhome outfits, we shall see.  Stay safe, healthy, and sane. 💓💓
