Holiday Wrap-Up

dress- eShakti , necklace-Macy's(similar here ), sunnies- Target , flats- Dr. Scholl's   For this OOTD,the bold red stripes in the skirt and sleeves give a nod to the holiday season, while still being chic.  I love the idea of  color-blocking  as a theme for holiday dressing, it's graphic and festive without the full force of  straight-up Christmas Sweaters. I plan on wearing this wrap throughout the winter, as the longer length provides warm, the silhouette provides nursing/pumping access, and of course pockets.  Since it's my last day in the office before the holidays, this will probably be the last post for 2018. What a wild year! I grew my hair out, had another baby, leaned into a more feminine style, then cut all my hair off again. Who knows what the new year will bring, but I intend to keep on outfitting.

Fair Isle Holiday Style

coatigan-Saks off Fifth(similar here ), scarf-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), Henley- Gap , skirt- Uniqlo , boots-Zara(similar here ) In this post I was all about the comfy coziness of Hygge for outfitting this holiday season. And while this black, white, & grey ensemble isn't oozing with festive flair, the fair isle-esque coatigan, circle midi-skirt, and graphic infinity scarf are feeling the season just a bit. The belt and boots give it some polish for a comfortable end-of-the-year office outfit. I only have this week left to work until the New Year!! Also, I got my hair chopped off--😮💇😁

In Praise of Buffalo Plaid

sweater- Rag & Bone via Nordstrom (similar here ), shirt-Gap(similar here ), trousers-Loft(similar here ), loafers-Zara(similar here ), necklace-Macy's(similar here ), sunnies- Target   Buffalo Plaid is one of my all-time favorite prints. It makes for a great holiday outfit that works all winter long. I like to bust out my buffalo around Thanksgiving to get as much use out of it as I can. For this OOTD I paired a buffalo plaid button-down with polka dot trousers and a shawl-collared menswear cardigan. Argyle socks add in another pattern for good measure, and black loafers play into the androgynous vibe. I'm also loving the bit of red berry branches in the background of these pics, Christmas is coming!!!!

Holidays = Hygge

sweater- J.W. Anderson x Uniqlo (similar here via L.L. Bean ), shirt-Gap(similar here ), jeans-Anthropologie(similar here ), books- Columbia Sportswear , watch-Wenger(similar here via Amazon) This past holiday week was ideal sweater weather with its mild, yet brisk days. And speaking of sweaters this fair isle cardi represents all the things I love about hygge --the Danish word that embodies the special feelings that come with comfy, cosy, and charming moments. The holidays are prime hggye time, and I'm prepping my seasonal outfitting around that hygge philosophy. Think chunky knits, leg warmers, scarves, pieces to keep me toasty as winter sets in, yet mixing up patterns and colors to make things festive. I'll be sporting a lot of cardigans and leggings with functional boots and drapey tops, which may sound a bit basic, but trust I'll be bringing the hygge hard!
