A Leather Moment & a Shout-out to My Bestie

skirt/shirt-Mikkat Market(similar here and here ), sweatshirt- Gap , necklace-Asos(sort of similar here ), boots- DSW , bracelets-Banana Republic(more bracelets here ), ring-Borrowed*   Having fun with leather, or to be honest pleather because this skirt and necklace are no way the real thing.  But, who cares?  Sometimes this faux-leather bib necklace can be a bit overwhelming so I like to wear over a neutral back ground. As for this skirt, I prefer to veer toward the casual, rather than va-va-voom, which one might expect with a tight red leather pencil skirt.    A note on the background... Remember this post from a two weeks ago? These bushes are ready for winter!     *So this ring belongs to my best friend Jenni, she left it at my house during her last visit. I've been wearing it here and there, because I like it, but more because I miss her and it reminds me of her. I love you Jenni!...

Leopard Print Once Again

In this post, I showcased several outfits featuring leopard print, some of which consisted of the same garment. Here's my leopard print shirt once again-- blazer/shirt-Jcrew Factory(kind of similar here ), pants- Banana Republic Factory Store, (sort of similar here ) bracelets/rings- Jewel Mint , necklace- Cookie Lee   Another outing of my leopard print shirt, last seen here and highlighted here .  These burgundy trousers are usually the standout piece of the outfit, but I think in this look they are making the leopard print pop. You can wear two defining pieces together and not go into "Girl, what was she thinking?" danger zone, you just have to experiment and find a unifying factor, like this navy blazer.

Professional Over Punk

The slits in the over skirt have great movement!   Exposed side-zipper and over-skirt pleat detail shot.         dress-Mikkat Market(more dresses here ), blazer-Jcrew Thrifted(similar and way more expensive here ), boots-DSW(similar here )   This dress on its own is so NOT office appropriate. With its faux leather bustier-esque top and slit overskirt it reads more warrior punk then business professional. But I like to push the style envelope so I took the risk and utilized this thrifted blazer to play down the dress's edge.  And how classy are these pictures next to a dumpster! Very punk, indeed.

Leopard Print Wednesday

A few pics from some former posts of leopard print moments. Post here.   From this post   Post   Post here .   From this post .   Post   From this post .   And I'm currently wearing the shirt from the second to last post as I type these comments! An addiction, no. A way to throw in some pattern and fun into an outfit, YES! At any rate be sure to check back later this week so see how I style yet another leopard print shirt outfit.

Scarf Vest

Buttons! I don't know what to do with these straps.... But hey, look! This layered scarf also acts like a vest!   scarf-BCBG(more scarves here ), shirt-Zara(similar here ), pants-Banana Republic(interesting option here ), shoes- Jcrew Factory , bag- Longchamp via Ebay , necklace-Gifted   This outfit was inspired by a morning of looking though old Jcrew catalogs.  I love Sunday mornings with coffee and catalogs/magazines and Lifetime movies. I also love the mixing of styles in this outfit. The cropped trousers are "of-the-moment" with the tux-inspired stripe, while the shirt has a more boho-summery feel. The necklace is folksy, while the scarf, with its leopard print and layers brings in some texture and versatility, especially with its buttons and straps to create the "vest." All in all, a solid outfit for the weekend!
