Vintage Inspired Outfit

Lighting wasn't the greatest here, but man do my shorts POP! blouse/belt/shoes-Gap(similar here , here & here ), shorts- Jcrew , bracelet/ring- Jewel Mint This past Sunday I checked out the Pittsburgh Vintage Mixer with my friend Caitlin from Sass and Precision who kindly took these pictures for me. Since we were attending a vintage fair I decided to go retro with my outfit.  This blouse reminds me a 50's rollerskating waitress, from there I just added on the pink and headed out the door.  Oh and Outfits Not Just Clothes also has its' own facebook page!!! Like it here . And follow me on twitter @fair_claire.

Little White Dress under Stormy Skies

I think the visible bra works as it mirrors the strap of fabric across the shoulders. dress-Zara(similar here ), shoes- Shoe Mint , bag-Nine West(something similar here ), sunnies- Banana Republic , chain-Forever 21(similar here ) You may recall my other little white dress from this post .  This version is more dressed-up (even with flats) and more edgy with the architectural details.  I wanted to keep it cool with the accessories, since it's been so heavy hot this last week.  Also, I wanted an outfit that matches last Friday's evening sky. So dark and moody a prefect contrast for a white dress.

Feathers!

feathers and boobs dress-BCBG(more dresses here ), belt-ModCloth(more belts here ), necklace-Forever21(similar here ), shoes-Gap(similar here ), ring- JewelMint From yesterday's cool tones to today's dark romance. That's kind of a cliche, but whenever feathers are involved their is always a bit of romance. I've had this dress for awhile, you may recall it from here .  And we've seen this peacock belt recently here .  I paired these two not so much for color/texture but for shape because the belt really pulls in the waist line.  From there I pushed the feather theme with the necklace.  There is a lot going on with the pattern of this dress, but the panels of black along the side keeps things slim and not too cray cray.

Cool Blue Outfit

blazer-Anthropologie (another patterned blazer here ), top-Jcrew(similar here ), pants/heels-Banana Republic(similar here and here ), ring/bracelet/necklace-gifted, ring- Jewel Mint   I last wore this blazer with bright pieces and patterned heels, seen here .  This time out I wanted to play off the calming tones of the blazer and go for a more chilled out vibe with the slate grey color of the top and pants.  Things are kept interesting with subtle pattern and textures.  Over the weekend a friend told me that I should wear more delicate necklaces, that I have the neck for it (Thanks Tess!), so instead of doing for something chunky or bold I tried these longer strands.  I'm enjoying how it adds to the effect of the outfit.

Picnic Outfit

Yes I'm wearing a makeshift turban and Lord love Mr. Keller he did not bat an eye when I came outside, he just went with it and took my picture. tunic-Zara(similar here ), necklaces-Banana Republic(similar here ), shoes-Urban Outfitters(similar here ), sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ), turban-"street" scarf On Sunday Mr. Keller and I had what I like to call a "Deli-Counter" Picnic where we buy a variety of meats, cheeses, and olives.  And this chic ensemble was my look for our casual evening on the back deck. I like to call this Bedouin Chic, T.E. Lawrence has nothing on me! My "turban" is actually a scarf I bought for $5 on the streets of Manhattan, which is also when I got this tunic from Zara, color wise you couldn't wish for a better pairing.  Our picnic below:

Weekend Writing Worskhop Warrior Outfit

jacket-Mikkat Market(similar here ), cardigan-Target(old)(not at all similar but I like this one ), top-Banana Republic(similar here ), shorts-Anthropologie(sort of similar here ), belt- Gap , boots-Forever21(similar here ), bag-Coach(more bags here ), necklaces-vintage(gifted), sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ) This past weekend I participated in a writing workshop where we explored the role of "truth." It was a bit experimental (there was drawing) and it was good to be around a big group of writers AND to see a former teacher of mine Stacey Waite, you can check her website here .  As for my outfit choice, I again leaned toward a Fall look as seen here  which worked with this damp weather we've been having. I also wanted to pair this dressy top with more rugged pieces like the jacket and boots to add another texture to the tweed of the shorts and knit of the cardigan.  I can see this outfit working once Fall finally arrives and addin...
