Teal Tweed

blazer-Uniqlo(more options here ), shirt-Francesca's(similar here ), trouers-J.Crew(similar here ), loafers-DSW(similar here ) True, tweed is NOT the first fabric that comes to mind when thinking about spring style. HUHEVAH, a cropped tweed trouser in teal begs to be apart of a springtime outfit, no?!  Of course, these crops will also work for autumn, it's all about styling. Here, on this last day of May, I've paired them with a floral, boho-esque top, pink loafers, and a striped knitwear blazer for a bright and dynamic office outfit.

Beige Days

blazer/loafers-Zara(similar here and here ), blouse-Banana Republic(more options here ), pants- Uniqlo , necklace-Gifted(similar from Macy's here ), watch-Micheal Kors(similar here )  Not setting the fashion world on fire with this blazer, blouse, trouser outfit, however the neutral color story is subtly chic. Plus, it's always nice to have a palette cleanser, so to speak, after several days of wearing bright brights! Plus plus, there IS some interesting contrast with the feminine lace of the blouse and the menswear-esque blazer, trouser, and loafers.

Lady Tomboy

dress-- Trina Turk via Rent the Runway , jacket-Piperlime(similar from Zara here ), necklace-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), clutch-Banana Republic(more options here ), heels-Ralph Lauren(more options here ) Bringing some understated glam to a wedding this past weekend in this subtlety chic outfit!A navy frock, shiny necklace, and pumps are no-brainers when it comes to wedding-guest style. However, the overlay of this Trina Turk dress, the pattern on the heels, AND the unexpected add-ons of a floral bomber and message clutch take it up a notch on the fashion barometer. (Do barometers have notches?)  Either way, you get my point, that outfitting is in the details. Sure, it helps to have a great-fitting dress with visual interest, but a designer dress alone is still just clothes. When you deploy thoughtful accessories, especially ones with a bit of irony--hello "tomboy" bag--then the outfit emerges.  Other things to note: my hair ...

Birds & Stripes

blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), tee-Zara(similar here ), pants-Uniqlo(similarish here ), flats-Dr. Scholls(similarish here ), necklace-Gifted(similar here from Free People ) Here's another iteration of my workwear uniform (as seen here , here , and here )--shirt, pants, blazer, and flats rendered in a mix of patterns. It's a functional go-to and can be quite versatile depending on the mix of pieces. I love the prints here--stripes, birds, and polka dots the standard navy blazer really brings everything together with just enough polish for the office.

Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Banana

blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), dress-BCBG(similarish here ), necklace / slides - H&M , watch- Wenger Orange can be a tricky color to pull off, especially for us pale gals, but once you've find the right shade for you it can quickly become a go-to color in your outfitting. For instance, this orange blazer that I've had  for years, is one of my favorite pieces to add some eye-popping color to a variety of lookst. AND, it was the perfect topper to this striped dress. I kept the color story going with the slingbacks and kept the jewelry simple.
