Chewbeads

My very good friend, and fellow "cool mom" sent me a Chewbeads necklace. I couldn't find the exact one I was gifted from their website, but it's similar to this one: Perry Necklace As a fan of statement necklaces I can't wait to try out my new Chewbeads piece next time I'm out and about with Baby Girl and in need of a "safe" accessory. And by safe I mean something that won't get damaged from her chubby little fingers pulling and grasping. Oh, and I guess safe for her to put in her mouth as well, yeah the baby's safest is important too. :) After browsing the website, I'm also interested in picking up this piece: Astor Necklace They even have Juniorbeads for the baby to get in on the action. I'm thinking I like the junior version better than the adult choices... Like why can't I have bright stars around my neck, why is it only for the kid? And this piece is GLOW IN THE DARK, how cool!  Juniorbead Broadway ...

Pineapples!

shirt- H&M , blazer-Gap(similar here ), pants/loafers-Zara(similar here and here ), sunnies-Sole Society(more options here ), necklace- Jewel Mint , watch- Wegner Granted, sequin pineapples and bright green drawstring pants are more of a night-out look, However, my nights are pretty much home bound for the foreseeable future, so I threw on an office-appro blazer and took this outfit to work! I'm all for a fun alternative to the standard office-wear of a button-down and tailored trousers. Since returning to work I've been pushing the dress code, because I enjoy it and most of my work clothes don't yet fit, as my body continues to be in transition since giving birth. I think having creativity in your work wear (for me at least) helps elevate the daily grind AND I can totally justify these pants as a time saving option when visiting the restroom. They are a quick, easy on/easy off, those extra few seconds can really add up!

Soda Jerk Chic

shirt-ModCloth(similar here ), pants- Uniqlo , bow tie- American Apparel , jacket- Gap (super old), pins-Vintage, shoes- Dr. Scholls , ring-French Connection(similar here ) With this striped shirt and bow tie I immediately felt like an old-time soda jerk at the drugstore on Main Street! You feel me? I haven't busted out a bow tie in quite awhile, both IRL and here on the blog. I think the bow tie trend is coming to a close, but I'm loving how the red really pops, especially in the closeup pics! This very old denim jacket was a last minute throw on, as it was kind of chilly in the morning. The three pins on the collar basically live there, and maybe aren't technically vintage, but I've had them for well over a decade. I used to be obsessed with little pins and had them on everything. Some have survived various closet purges, others not so much... However, I found myself sifting through a bunch at Wildcard over the weekend... t...

A Jumpsuit By Chance

shirt- J.Crew , jumpsuit- Uniqlo , bag-ModCloth(similar here ), shoes- Dr. Scholls This look came together by pure chance. I was grabbing for another piece in my closet and got caught up with the hanger holding this jumpsuit, the purchase of which was featured in this post . So, I let the outfitting fates direct me and paired this one-piece with a classic striped shirt, comfy flats, and some colorful accessories. Sure, this ensemble is not setting the fashion world on fire, but for a casual day out and about it's a nice change from the more typical jeans and tee.

BAM! Springtime Colors!

A very dainty bracelet here. I'm leaning more toward delicate jewelry, not only is it on-trend, it's less likely to get in the way when handling the baby. Function AND fashion coming together!    jacket-Piperlime( from H&M similar here ), dress- Vince Camuto via Le Tote , necklace-Banana Republic(similar here ), bracelet- Anthropoloige , belt-Gap(more belts here ), flats-Shoe Mint(from DSW similar here ) Finally we have COLOR!!! The past few weeks have seen a lot of black and white, and neutral toned outfits( here , here , here , here , and here ). Not that I'm dissing my very own ensembles, no, it's just been easier to go with black and white, or navy and white, or grey and black.  Those color combos are always in style, on trend, and flattering. But, with the arrival of this dress from Le Tote I'm able to done some bright shades and welcome spring! In terms of styling I went for my trusty wide, black belt and added a jack...

Culottes In Action!

Now that's an amazing shirt-tuck, amiright?! shirt-H&M(similar here ), culottes- Everlane , shoes- ModCloth , necklace- Le Tote (similar here ) The main components of this outfit were featured in Recent Buy posts-- here , here , and here . Now, you can see the pieces coming together for an outfit! After finally relenting to culottes, this black pair is surprisingly comfortable, and not at all as unflattering as I had imagined them when the trend first hit the fashion rags. Plus, I love the shapes created when paired with this checkered shirt's artful tuck. Yes, this uneven half-tuck is completely intentional so as to playoff the wider leg of the culotte to create angles and edges. Because let's face it, without the shapes this would just be a simple black bottom and button-up shirt. However, with boxier culottes a slouchy patterned shirt, and d'Orsay-inspired loafers there's enough visual interest to make these clothes into a chi...
