Anchors & A Little Palm Tree









Hello elongation!!! I'm not a huge advocate of shots from below, but damn do I look tall and lean here!

 From black and white palm trees yesterday, to navy and pink anchors here today, I'm taking novelty prints and summertime fun patterns across the color spectrum this week! This shirt is technically a PJ top, last seen here. And as in that last post, the pajama-dressing trend is still going strong! I kept up that loungey vibe with these drawstring pants and played on the shirt's accent color of pink for these loafers. I thought about adding a blazer as a third piece, which is very much my style M.O., but in the midst of all this heat and humidity best to keep things simple.  

 Next week I'll be highlighting some of my fall buys, because even though it doesn't feel like it, autumn is coming!

Rent the Runway to the Rescue

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Annie Lennox Realness!

Love the tuxedo detail of these cropped pants. coat/pants-Jcrew(similar here and here ), blazer-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Asos(sort of similar here ), shoes-DSW(really cool here ), gloves-Brian Atwood for Neiman Marcus/Target(more gloves here ), sunglasses-Banana Republic(similar here ) I'm feeling very Annie Lennox circa Eurythmics in this outfit, eh? Most times wearing a coat is a necessity, not necessarily an intricate part of the outfit, but here it really makes the look. And even though the blazer is covered up the hints of it, almost like a lining, work break up an all grey/white look.  And now for your viewing pleasure  Sweet Dreams:   Have a great weekend!
