Red Pant Fail

I love a colorful cropped pant as seen here , here , here , etc. I have a pair in almost every color except for a bright cherry red.  Ideally, I'd love to a Little Red Suit (LRS) like I have in blue here .  Well, so far my attempts at acquiring such a pair of cropped pants have been for naught. Two contenders from Jcrew First up, the darker pair ... Now the lighter pair ... Let's see if this goes with my reddish blazer.... Sort of, but just off enough to seem awkward. These are going back.     I'm wondering if the holiday season would be a better time to try for a LRS, but that seems like such a cliché... Oh well, I'm keeping my eyes open, we shall see...

Dinner, Not Just Food

So, as I made mention of earlier this week, the outfit photos have slowed down since my husband/photographer has been laid up after knee surgery. I was able to take off from work to play nurse for  a week, at which time I got some house projects done AND made up some healthy healing dinners.    So I decided to roast a whole chicken for dinner last weekend.   Thyme, lemon, garlic, onions, melted butter.  Mixed all together and then coated over the bird.   The remaining "glaze" I poured right into the cavity along with lemon wedges and sprigs of thyme.     Side dish of asparagus and mushroom sautéed in oil and more garlic.   Mushrooms first.       A dash of sea salt and some lemon.     Bird check!   Sprinkled with sesame seeds.     Yeah, Mr. Keller usually does the carving...   Dessert of peaches and cottage cheese.   There you have it. Roasted chicken with asparagus and mushrooms, with peaches and cottage

Green & Orange Tropical Outfit

Not just putting a bird on it. I'm putting a bird on a branch on it. blouse-ModCloth(similar here ), trousers-Jcrew(similar here ), shoes-Zappos(similar here ), necklace-Forever 21(similar here )   Earlier last week we reached highs in the low 80's and when the weather gets hot the colors come out. I'm not a huge fan of mixing green and red, but I do enjoy the occasional pairing of  green and orange. This color combo reminds me of the tropics, so I pushed that feeling with these exotic floral wedge heels and a bird-on-a-branch necklace( a great/quirky find from Forever21).   Things will be slowing down post wise on the blog, folks.  My husband/photographer had knee surgery and is basically immobile in our guest room. I'll be playing nurse(not in a frisky way) over the next few weeks, and while doing so (brace yourself) will be wearing just clothes... I know, I know, BUT husband health prevails over outfits.

Denim Vest & Seersucker

vest /trousers-Gap(similar trousers here ), tee- American Apparel , bag(gifted)- J. Jill , loafers-DSW(similar here ), sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ), necklace- Mikkat Market Outfit from this past weekend. I was originally going for full on country-club prep with these seersucker cropped trousers and a white menswear button down. But, the heat made me reach for this tee.  Then things got a bit tough and rough with this denim vest (which I got a size too large on purpose) and my gifted leather satchel. Intention be damned(!) it felt right, a nice mash up of good girl prep and bad girl rock a' billie. And now some action shots, trying to balance on the rail. Falling....
