Birds & Bare Branches

blazer-Gap(more jackets & blazers here ), dress-eShakti(more shifts here ), scarf-Gifted from The Bombay Store , leggings- Target , boots- Sam Edelman via Nordstrom I LOVE this pics! It's always so satisfying when an outfit and a background come together like this bird & branch novelty-print dress and the bare trees in the park. Also, the overcast sky and muted green & grey tones really make the oranges in the scarf and dress POP! Plus, my hair and the slight breeze make for some utterly dynamic photos, don't you think?! I first featured this frock in a Holiday Outfitting post here . And in that post I mentioned how the print lends itself to the transitional season between winter and spring, which these images proof without a doubt! The oversized blazer, is a great outerwear alternative, as seen here , and these waterproof boots make for a sleek, yet practical choice during the damp days of a late-winter thaw. Fashi

An Eclectic Mix

blazer-J.Crew(more options here ), tee- ModCloth , joggers-Uniqlo(similar here ), scarf/necklace-Gifted(similar here and here via Poshmark ), ring-Jewel Mint(similar here via Poshmark ), boots-Steve Madden(similar here )  There is a LOT going on in this OOTD. Tweedy blazer, boho scarf, pajama-esque joggers, rugged boots, statement ring... yeah a lot. But, it all works because each piece picks up on a color from the blazer, plus there's a whole laissez faire vibe that is perfect for a weekend winter outfit, especially during a warmish winter weekend when you can leave off the standard overcoat and get a taste of spring.  Full disclosure: this scarf was a last minute add-on because my neck was feeling a bit irritated from the blazer collar, so while it's adds to the eclectic theme of this outfit it also serves a purpose. Don't you just love it when function and fashion come together?!

Stevie Nicks Realness

sweater- Jack by BB Dakot a (more sweaters here ), dress- Porto via Dina Ellen , boots-DSW(similarish here ) The drama of this dress, with the sheer wrap cardi and patchwork boots is giving me Stevie Nicks Realness! All I need is a tamborine and a be-ribboned mic and I'm all set to launch into Rhiannon .  It took me a few wears to find the right way to style this voluminous frock, I didn't quite "have" it in my last post . This grey-on-the-cusp-of-lavender wrap (last seen here ) highlights the shapes of the skirt, and the multi-tone heeled boots give it a boho-vibe without things getting costumey.

Blue Schmatta Sundays

cardigan-Zara(similar here ), dress- Romacci via Amazon , bag - Mordenmiss via Amazon , ring-Jewel Mint(similar here via Poshmark ), boots-Landsend(similar here ), leg warmers-American Apparel(similar here ) This cardigan has become quite the wardrobe workhorse here this fall/winter, as seen here and here . For this blue-toned OOTD it gave some structure and shape to a chambray schmatta. The woven tote, knit legwarmers, and duck boots were all functional add-ons as we went were out and about exploring this weekend at Free Museum Sundays and the neighborhood playground.
