Joe Fresh

While in Canada I was able to check out Joe Fresh, which is a brand of clothing sold in the Canadian version of Target and apparently they have stores in NYC, but do not have online sales(What the Fudge?!)  Here's a few items I spied/scored:

Photo Print Shift Dress
Active Jacket
Printed Jean

V-Neck Striped Dress
Slim Print Pant
The style is fun and the prices are insane. They availability varies by store so not everything on the website was at the location I was able to check out.  But I did pick up some really cute items.

Update! While composing this post I came across Joe Fresh over on JCPenny's website.  And I am like, come on, Joe Fresh at JCP can't be as fresh as it is in NYC and Canada, right?  And for the most part it's not, but I trolled two pieces that appear pretty damn fresh.

Digital Print Skinny Pant
Long Sleeve Tunic

Look at you JCPenny's! Featuring the Joe Fresh and it's not all some watered down version which can happen when the discount stores get a hold of name brand...  I'm sorry, that was kind of mean, but for reals you were thinking the same thing.  I guess now I don't have to travel to New York or Canada to get a Joe Fresh fix!

Back In Action Outfit

This bracelet is just fabulous!
Gosh, I look so severe here. I'm not mad, I promise.

top-LeTote, shorts/bracelet-Jcrew(similar here and here), loafers-DSW(similar and kind of expensive here), bag-Nine West(similar here)
I'm back in the Burgh, but the party keeps on rolling.  Since returning we've been hanging out/catching up with friends almost non-stop.  This outfit saw quite a bit of action this weekend. It went to brunch, ran some errands, and had a few beers in the beer garden over at Hofbrauhaus. This top is such an easy piece to wear, just slip it on and go.  The vibrant color of these shorts makes them really pop, always a great element in an outfit.
Don't forget my workshop/lecture "Rev Up Your Personal Style" is this Saturday, August 3rd 3-5 in the Quiet Reading Room at the  Carnegie Library's main branch in Oakland.  It's a free event, no need to register, just show up.  Check out the FB event here!

Military Green in Chemainus

From Victoria we headed north to Campbell River, but stopped on the way to view the murals of Chemainus

Work still in progress.
And my outfit for this adventure:
tee-Gap(similar here), vest-Old Navy(similar here), pants/flats-Jcrew Factory(similar here and here), necklace-Jewel Mint
I went for function and comfort here. Some may argue this is just clothes, but I deem this an outfit because the necklace is f*cking fierce and the vest is giving me all sorts of road-trip-weekend-warrior realness.

We'll be back state-side tonight and exploring Washington tomorrow, possibly going to Mount St. Helen.

AND don't forget, to vote for which Rent the Runway dress I should wear for a wedding back home next month here

My Fashion Lecture

Saturday, August 3rd I'll be giving a lecture on personal style and figure-flattering fashion! This event is free and open to the public. So, if you are in the Pittsburgh area and free from 3-5 Saturday August 3rd then get on down to the Oakland (main) branch of the Carnegie Library!  Official event and contact details here.  I'll be presenting in the Quiet Reading Room on the first floor.  Be ready to learn some tricks and tips for revving up your style AND dressing for your body shape. Additional talking points will be fueled by audience questions and concerns.  Check it out on facebook here.

NOW, the big concern for me (besides actually putting together the presentation) is WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR?!?!?!  I honestly, have no clue, and while I'm currently on vacation I really can't bring myself to think about it. But some things I'm keeping in mind:

1) This event is on  August 3rd, so it'll probably be hot and humid.
2) I HAVE to be comfortable, not completely loosey goosey, but I need something I can stand and move in for 2 hours straight.
3) I have to bring the fierce, obvie. I can't be giving advice and look like a Boring Betty
4) Besides fierce, I need something flattering to my body AND appropriate for the venue.  This is a library on a Saturday afternoon, not an Executive Directors Meeting on a Monday morning, OR Cocks n' Apps on Friday night.

I feel a fashion show coming on... Yes, indeed. I'll need to play around, try on a bunch of different things, crank up the AC, blast some music, and get a bottle of wine to pull this off.

Oh and don't forget to vote for my Rent the Runway dress here.

Victoria Touring Outfit

Still on vaca on Vancouver Island folks and here's a recent day of touring around the provincial capital of British Columbia, Victoria.

Wait, what? No heels?!?! Grrrl, please!

Drawing Room Frock

Mr. Keller caught my reflection AND the Sitting Room Outfit, he's so good!

Exotic Dressing Gown

Hallway Pose

Skirt Action Shot!

Waiting for the bus...

Yes, those are houses/buildings tied to the dock

And then we checked out the car show in town.

Hot Rod
Outfit dets: jacket-Gap, dress-Duro Olowu for JCPenny(similar here), flats-J.Crew Factory, bag-J.Jill(gifted), cuff-vintage, rings-Jewel Mint

So far it has been a fun-filled adventure in the Pacific Northwest and we're currently in Campbell River and about to go whale watching!!!! So excited! As for the outfit above, I went with a comfortable, but graphic shift dress, and of course when touring a city flats are in order. The weather up here is a bit chilly so my fitted denim jacket provided some structure and warmth.  My studded vintage cuff gave me a bit of an edge, while the satchel bag was all function.

And don't forget to vote for my Rent the Runway dress here.
