Fun Shorts Friday Tropical Edition

T-shirt-Gap(similar here ), shorts-Forever 21 Men(similar here ), shoes- Native Shoes , bracelet- Aid Through Trade Posted this to Instagram last Friday, but didn't get around to getting up on the blog until THIS Friday, but the concept is still the same. Embrace the end of the workweek and the laid back vibes of summer in short form. For this week I went with a tropical theme in these drawstring men's shorts from Forever21 . Yep these are boy shorts! If you're a fan of novelty prints and/or quirky style, then I highly recommend checking out the men's section, especially for drawstring shorts. The patterns are just (if not more) dynamic, they are comfortable, have pockets, and come in longer lengths. Too often, from my experience, women's patterned shorts can be quite short and ride up in uncomfortable and unflattering ways. Of course, every body is different and you have to consider what works for you. These shorts are definitely working for me!  You can look at p

Jump(suit)ing Into Summer

t-shirt-Style Mint(similar here via Poshmark ), jumpsuit- Banana Republic Factory , necklace-Jewel Mint, bag- ModCloth (more options here ), sandals- Born via Nordstrom , sunnies-- DIFF You can't go wrong with stripes, chambray, and sandals for summer style. I love how this jumpsuit is reminiscent of overalls, but feels more refined even when paired with a causal striped tee.  I almost went with a sneaker, but then I felt that would have come off too clunky, so I opted for a more sleek slip-on sandal. This pair from Born , has a padded footbed and substantive tread, for fashionable and functional footwear. Overall (pun intended) this outfit makes me feel chic, fun, and like summer is in full swing

Fun Shorts Friday Vintage Edition

t-shirt-Vintage(more options here via Poshmark ), shorts- J.Crew (more madras shorts here via Poshmark ), sneakers- Converse , sunnies- DIFF Eyewear In this edition of #funshortsfriday I'm sporting some very personal vintage and summer staples. I wore this t-shirt back in high school in the 90's and it was my mother's t-shirt from college in the 70's! And these madras shorts are quintessential summertime Americana, and then of course finishing the look with classic chuck taylors. Vintage inspired all around!

Hodge Podge with Polka Dots

dress-- Romacci via Amazon , sweater-Uniqlo, sunnies- Diff Eyewear , necklace-Jewel Mint(available from Poshmark here ), sandals- Target This OOTD came together with, what at first, felt like a bunch of disparate items. There's the black n' white polka dot maxi dress, brown sandals, an olive grey summer sweater, and random jewelry. But taking a step back to see the look as a whole, it actually embodies a very appropriate summery vibe. There's a bit of boho, a bit of freckles, a bit of easy swagger.  I'm also loving the versatility of this sweater.  The first shots I've tied it a bit loose and lower on the waist, then the classic draped over the shoulders, then switched things up tying it higher and tighter for a vaguely empire-waist effect. Using the sweater, as opposed to just wearing it, allows me to create different silhouettes with this oversized dress. I first featured this frock as maternity wear  here .  Then post-baby and when I was struggling with my body
