Dots Dots Dots--Cope Cope Cope

cardigan / dress / necklace / ring - Le Tote , tights- J.Crew (similar here from Poppy Socks ), loafers-Nine West(similar here ) I basically opened my latest package from Le Tote and threw it all on in one look and then double-downed on the polka dots. This outfit pics were from last week when the world wasn't social distancing. Here this week my OOTDs are sweats and flannel as I work from home.  I know things like fashion and style can seem frivolous during serious times. But for me, reading fashion blogs, looking at runway pics, putting on some cute clothes and going out for a walk are a means of coping with the stress from worrying about family, finances, and health. So if it's a nice day, why not wear  some polka dots , or stripes , or a fun pair of culottes , go get some fresh, and maybe even snap a few outfit selfies.  😃

Tux Style

coat-J.Crew(similar here ), blouse-Forever 21(more options here ), pants- Ines De La Fressange for Uniqlo (a less formal version here ), gloves-Neiman Marcus (more options here ), loafers-Nine West(similar here ) I love how the ties on this blouse, when left loose, mimic an undone bow tie for a whole after-hours tuxedo moment. These trousers, are in fact a tux-style pant from a collection by Ines de la Fressange for Uniqlo  from a number of years back. Other great features of this shirt are the polka dots and pleats. Note the pleated front AND pleats on the sleeves. This blouse is quite romantic when you take in the sheer fabric and dramatic sleeve, when paired with the menswear-inspired trousers and straight overcoat you get an interesting mix of feminine and androgynous style. The studded gloves throw an edgy vibe into the mix, for a surprisingly dynamic look!

Sweater as Scarf

coat-Melloday(similar here ) via Nordstrom Rack , sweater-Saks Off Fifth(similar here ), shirt- H&M , trousers- Banana Republic , loafers- G. H. Bass , necklace-vintage/gifted Why yes, I did wear this same coat in my last post here . It's beginning to feel a lot like Spring, so coatigans, mid-weight jackets, and oversized blazers are all coming out of the cedar closet! For this OOTD I went the more androgynous route with navy trousers, loafers, and a button-down. I also got creative with my hygge-inspired sweater from this post , and draped it as a scarf. The sweater as scarf trend has been a round the street style block for a few seasons now, as seen here . And that's the great thing about the seasonal shifts and transitional dressing, as it provides the opportunities to rethink how to wear and pair particular garments.
