Outfits Not Just Clothes

  top / shorts / necklace - Le Tote , sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , wedges- Eileen Fisher via Nordstrom , watch-Wenger(similar here ) Switching things up in this post from #funshortsfriday to #chicshortsfriday with this monotone outfit. Top, shorts, and necklace were all in my most recent tote, and these wedges I got on huge sale earlier this summer.  To be honest, I wore this look just to take these photos. I did also go to the grocery store (masked) afterwards, but I didn't organically wear this as an outfit in my daily life. If this was a normal summer, I would have totally pushed against the office dresscode and worn these suiting shorts and asymmetrical top to work and shocked all of the sartorial purists that think shorts and bare shoulders are inappropriate for the workplace. 

Around this time every August I find myself the deep throes of outfit fatigue, this summer more than ever.  These past two months have just been miserably hot and the only thing I can stand to wear day in and day out are my cutoffs and tank tops. Even if it weren't for the heat, since I'm working from home, I've not been outfitting in my daily life. But with my birthday and fall right around the corner I've been engaging in some retail therapy and dreaming of the chilly days and potential outfits ahead.   First up, some tough girl buys from Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale Topshop Faux Leather Jacket Block Heel Combat Boot How killer are these boots and this jacket. In a normal times I'd be planning not only how, but where I could style this badass combo. With jeans and flannel shirt for some outdoor day drinking at a local brewery. Or with v-neck sweater and plaid trousers for weekday lunch meetup, oh definitely pair them up with a girly flirty dress for date night

I first featured these men's drawstring shorts here . For this go round of #funshortsfriday I've paired them with a t-shirt for our times from a local shop Pavement  which I wrote about forever ago here . I'm trying to shop more local and support small businesses, especially those owned by women. When I saw this tee on online I coudln't resist, it's just too perfect. Everyone on my Zoom meetings loves it.  Happy Friday!

I originally got this shirt for my husband so we could have a family flamingo moment, but I couldn't resist "borrowing from the boys" and tying this black and pink shirt up for a masculine, yet retro feeling outfit. If you look at the detail pics of the necklace and collar, you'll see pink cocktails with the flamingos, making this the prefect shirt for some outdoor day drinking!
