Memorial Day Outfit

dress- Tulle Clothing (similarish options here from ModCloth ), flats- Dr. Scholl's , watch-Michael Kors(similar here ) I've had this dress for a LONG time, and featured it in this post from a couple of summers ago. So, yes is it a bit cliched to don red, white, & blue for Memorial Day... sure, but it's also quite appropriate. Plus, this shift is such an easy piece to wear, and much more polished then a tank and cutoffs. These polka-dotted flats were a purely functional choice... I need a fun, easy, comfy, and cute sandal option here this summer. Something to slip in & out of that's a bit more substantial/supportive than flip-flops. Any suggestions?

One Dress So Many Thoughts

dress/belt- Banana Repbulic (similar here and here ), cardi- La Fee Verte via Le Tote necklace/ring-similar here and here , wedges-DSW(similar here ) I have so many, and somewhat contradictory thoughts about this dress. First, I've had it for quite some time, around summer of 2008! So, there is definitely some nostalgia around that time of my life and how this dress represents that. But, it's so hard to keep nice, hence the wrinkles... I have to dry clean it every time I wear it because even water droplets can leave a stain if left too long... It's distinctive without being in-your-face flashy, which is right UP my style alley. This ruffle-neckline gives a nod to the current off-the-shoulder/caplet trends we're seeing now, so it's "in style" in its own unique way--again very much my style MO. I'm not really loving the fit... there's a LOT of material around the bust and I'm alread

Shirtdress as Poetry

dress- Noir via Le Tote , belt-Gap(more belts here ), loafers- G.H. Bass , necklace-vintage, ring-similar here from Bauble Bar , sunnies-Target(similarish here ) Yes, it's been a while since my last post. When I'm not working I tend not to blog, which means I had four days off work, and also off from outfitting. Yes, it's true I sometimes just wear clothes... But I'm back and with a chic vengeance in this shirtdress from my latest tote! First, this is a totes professional frock and even though it had a tie-belt attached to it, I further belted for a more cinched/fitted silhouette. And DAMN I look especially svelte in that last shot, right? Beyond the fine figure I'm able to cut in this dress, I'm also really digging the pattern and how it calls to the season. The photorealistic  print "cut through" with black, nicely mirrors the chillier spring we've been having here, as of last week. A mix of light and dark, fres

Style Modus Operandi

blazer- Gap (similar here ), shirt-Anthropologie(similar here ), pants-Zara(similar here ), loafers- Sole Society , ring- Le Tote I've been rocking this rainy-day blouse a lot here this spring, seen here , and  here . And it's the perfect print for this season, especially since it's been a rather damp one. Regardless of the weather-appropriateness of this pattern, the overall ensemble is really yet ANOTHER take on my style M.O. I'm all about a cropped trouser, pattern shirt, and blazer. It's by "uniform" for years and it works not only aesthetically, but functionally for my life. This is a great outfit-concept for work, and it can also go more casual or dressy depending on the pieces that makeup the look.  What's your stylish uniform?

Boho Office Outfit

blazer- Gap (similar here ), tunic- Duro Olowu for JCP , joggers- Philosophy via Le Tote , necklace-Anthropologie(more necklaces here ), watch- Wegner , flats- Dr. Scholls This "dress" was a long ago purchase that you may recall from this post , way back in the day! Now, after several dozens washes it's become more of a tunic, than a dress. Which is nicely playing into my current style theme of dress-over-pants ! I kept the print-mixing going with these patterned joggers and brought the whole thing into office appropriate territory with the blazer and patent-leather flats. Top it all off with a go-to statement necklace and you have an urban boho-esque office outfit! And not only did I wear this to work, I also sported it on a dinner date with Mr. Keller as we checked out Spork on Penn. Click here for my review on Yelp , it's dinner not just food!
