Mommy & Me with Pineapples

Tuesday's post featured me and baby girl #twinning in stripes, today we're all about pineapples! 🍍 Pineapples up close. I'm sporting sequins and Baby Girl is having summer fun time in a little smocked tank! shirt-H&M(similar here ), joggers- Le Tote , sneakers-Vans(similar here ), necklace-Gifted(similar from Etsy here ), baby clothes- Carters You may recall this shirt from last spring in this post . And I've been sporting these easy-to-wear joggers since my post-partum days. Together, along with my super-cool Vans I've got a pretty chill, yet hip casual outfit. Maybe not the best "mom" look as sequins can snag, but in terms of comfort, coverage, and a flattering fit this outfit is doing this Mom good!  It's been an interesting challenge to shoot with Baby Girl, here are some "test" shots before we found the right background.  And of course we need to keep a sippy cup on hand for

Mommy & Me

Does anyone else remember The Harts? Which I believe is the name of the paper doll family where the mother and daughter dressed alike... I couldn't find any Google Images or references after 5 minutes of copious searching, but trust it was a thing that existed because I distinctly remember playing with the whole paper doll family. My point being, the concept of mommy & daughter matching outfits has been on my style radar for quite some time... Of course these dresses are not exact replicas of each other. Baby girl's striped number comes from Old Navy, while my frock is from Iconic Luxe via Amazon. But both are blue and white, with horizontal stripes in the yoke/bodice, and vertical stripes in the skirt.  Here are some additional shots with a different background...  From both a functional and style perspective this is an almost perfect "Mom" dress. It fits, flatters, and covers as I bend, squat, and interact with baby girl:

Summer "Suit"

shirt/shorts-Wildfang(similar here and here ), loafers-G. H. Bass(similar here ), necklace- Lucky Feather , watch- Wenger Last summer I rocked some shorts suit realness, seen here and here . With this " matching set " from Wildfang I've taken the "suit" for summer into a casual zone with this feather-printed shirt and drawstring shorts. The loafers pick up a shade in the pattern, and exude a bit more polish then plain old flip flops. You don't really need much in terms of accessories with this shirt and bottom. The print does all the work for making this a standout look!

Minimalist Inspiration

Yesterday I featured an "direct from the runway" outfit inspiration. Today's look was inspired by a more minimalist image from the online retailer-- Violeta's online shopping photos: Violeta This pic features thier textured baggy trousers, and I just happen to have very similar pair... shirt-Gap(similar here ), trousers- Zara , slides-Old Navy(similar here ) Like in yesterday's OOTD I mimicked the shoes and pants then worked my way up. Today's inspiration is a much more "spot on" replica, as this breezy blouse not only captures the essence of the inspo photo, but shares it's color and silhouette. Besides how well or not my outfit matches Violeta's, this is a really subtle, yet chic midweek office outfit, no? For a day with no meetings a drapey drawstring trouser and pinstriped blouse are a no-brainer for work!
