Black & Navy Flowers thru Windowpanes

On a warmish day here recently, I had some fun with a eclectic outfit for the daycare pickup run.  coatigan- Nordstrom Rack , sweater-Mango(similar here ), pants-Uniqlo(similar here ), combat boots-Nordstrom(similar here ), ring- Skelton Jewelry , lips- MAC nail- tenoverten I've never been one to shy away from an eclectic OOTD, as seen here and here . For this outfit I layered a cropped sweater top under a coatigan as a mid-layer then shed my overcoat for a few quick pics on the way to daycare pickup. These pull-on flannel pants are such a fun take on winter loungewear. The print suggests a more springtime vibe, but the dark colors and fabric are right in line with winterwear. The combat boots, dark lip, and darker nail give the overall look a bit of edge, while the ring is a subtle accessory, no need for any other jewelry. Was this a bit much for a school run? Do the teachers, kids, and other parents even notice?  Am I wearing elevated clown pants? Should I have stood up straig

Turtleneck Tuesday Loungewear

For this week's #turtlenecktuesday I've layered a beige turtleneck under a matching knit lounge set and glammed it up with some jewelry.   turtleneck- Uniqlo , matching set- Soel Boutique , necklace- Benevolence LA , rings- Mejuri , bracelet- BaYou with Love , boots- LandsEnd I discovered Soel Boutique in the flesh on a trip to Utah back in the spring of 2019 (which seems like decades ago) and regretted not purchasing a jumpsuit I tried on while in the store. Since then I've been keeping an eye out on a potential purchase, and finally ordered this textured knit matching set. Does it make for the most chic or glamourous OOTD? No, but it's comfy as can be without being straight-up PJs and has layering potential as you can see with this turtleneck, plus I love mixing neutrals like beige and grey. As I'm still working from home and staying close to home in general, I decided to zhuzh up this loungewear look with some gold jewelry and makeup. I know in these times of m

That Apres Feel

A knitted hat is not only an essential for winter, but can also add a bit  more texture and pattern to your OOTD.  cardigan-Saks Off 5th(similar here and here ), blouse- Gap , jeans- Levi's , necklace-Jewel Mint(available here via Poshmark ), ring- Skelton Jewelry , boots-Sorel(similar here ), hat-Old Navy(similar here ) You may recall this blouse from my first "What I Could Have Worn" hallway mirror selfie post . It's now seeing the actual light of day with some of my all-time winter favorites--knit hat, chunky cardigan, and heavy-duty winter boots. These cold-weather basics are getting a bit of a style lift from the blouse and necklace. I leaned into the black and white color palette and went with black, as opposed to my standard skinny jeans. But actually, black denim is also a winter-time staple. And while I'm not a skier myself, I do enjoy classic Alpine style , and the prints of this sweater and hat speak to that après feel. I mean we are shooting on the

Party Party Party

Of course there are no parties and the dumpster fire that was 2020 is still raging here in 2021, but at least we have hallway mirror selfies... Another outfit that I COULD have worn for a killer night on the town! Now that's a wedge!  blazer-Luciano Barbera(similar here via TheRealReal ) shirt-Anthropologie(similar here ), jeans-Asos(similar here ), wedges-Shoe Mint(similar here and here via Poshmark ), necklaces-Pavement(similarish here ) & Merjui The top half of this OOTD is a mix of business and Boho, while the bottom half is all rock n' roll. It can be hard to pull off such disparate aesthetics in one look, and there are so few occasions (even in the before times) where this outfit would have been appropriate, I'm obvie not wearing this to the office or playdates. But for going out, whether real or fantasized, the similar color palette amongst all of the pieces, the way the prints mirror each other, and general attitude of the look make for a reasonably eclectic
